Stopped here for a pub lunch on a walk with the University of York walking society.||||I was leading a medium walk of 21 people, and had been to hell and back trying to find a pub to accommodate the lot of us. Our original establishment had rejected us, and it was looking as though the group would have to go hungry on the 8km.||||I was about to give up since most pubs weren't willing to take such last minute bookings, but after contacting the Three Fiddles they were more than willing to accommodate us, and provide us with chilli, chips and nachos for the brilliant price of £3.50 a head (cooking 21 pies, for example, would have taken hours).||||It is rare that I encounter such a polite service when booking a meal. Even when we encountered issues with the walk and told them we would be delayed by a couple of hours, the Three Fiddles were incredibly nice about it.||||Needless to say, their hospitality was top notch, as they provided us with a cornered off section and didn't even raise any complaint that we had half the mud of the moors caked on our trousers.||||So overall, a very pleasant experience, and for their service and chilli I would doubtless give them...

I opted to just have meat, mashed and roasted potatoes with lots of gravy. When we arrived we were told which table was ours. It was a small table for 2 people. As we were getting our drinks the owner came out and asked if we would care to move to a larger table. We accepted his kind offer. It was just as well as we were joined by another friend who lives in Guisborough for lunch. Everyone enjoyed...
