Table booking made for 4 people, 3 adults and 1 child of 8 years, and arrived 5.15. Then ordered food and drinks at 5.25. Was told at that time a large order has just been processed and no timescale could be given. At this point the venue was not at full capacity, so we felt it quite possible for food to be served 30-45 mins max. However no update given to us at all until 1 hour and 15 minutes later when we attracted attention of someone clearing tables. Then told food would still be 10-15 minutes so unacceptable and requested full refund so could get home to have beans on toast. It was suspected but no proof that our order had been mislaid/forgotten about. Party include an 8 year old that was hungry at at that point was 6.40pm. Refund then took another 10 minutes to sort, which was told "should" be returned to gift card used for payment. However we wasted some 1 hour and 45 minutes for no food, as refund timed at 18.45 for original receipt 10/0398, so what redress is to be given over and above refund? UPDATE !!! ON 26/06/23 - Received contact 21/06 following this public post and a complaint to company, but currently still awaiting promised recompense (of gift card credit by e-mail) .........................if nothing heard about this after 1 week i.e. by 28/06 then intend to submit complaint about the complaint handling! Photos now shown of empty tables whilst waited for food, plus beans on toast had at home instead! FURTHER UPDATE ! - On 11/07/23 - As no further contact received about promised recompense, further online complaint made via Sizzler website a week ago about this. But still no further contact so the complaint about the unresolved complaint now being ignored? This matter cannot be ignored and will go on..... 07/08/23 - After having to make THREE telephone calls to the company head office, eventually received a gift card as credit in resolution. Even so avoid this particular venue, and gift card is to be used elsewhere in M&B...

Me and a few friends booked and went to this pub for birthday celebrations on a Saturday night at 8pm post lockdown and I have never experienced service like it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a woman with an attitude and our IDs were checked twice as if she didnโ€™t believe us.

We were all ordering through the app and following covid precautions. After an hour of sitting, and a few drinks later, we were brought a tray of shots that we had ordered and was told โ€œwe would have to be monitored due to the amount of shots we had ordered and theyโ€™ve been having hassle with this.โ€ I could have understood this comment if we were being loud and causing trouble but we were seated at our table the whole night having normal conversation. It just felt like we were being targeted because we were young people, because a few tables behind us were being loud, screaming and throwing things but they was not receiving half the attitude that we were.

At approx 9.15 pm, we were told to do our last orders even though there was still many people at the pub. We all ordered a drink and a shot each. When we received what weโ€™d paid for, one of the shots had the tiniest drop of spirit, that probably wasnโ€™t even a quarter of a regular shot amount. After that, every 10 mins we were told to โ€œhurry and drink upโ€. This one particular staff member was going round every table telling them to hurry up which led to other customers getting visibly annoyed and leaving full pints on the table that they had paid for. They shut at 9:55 which I thought was a bit early for a Saturday night, especially when it was still fairly busy at that time.

Overall the service was quick, but the bad attitude from a particular staff member and the passive aggressive, unnecessary comments all night after every order we received sort of ruined the night, which was supposed to be a nice get together for my birthday. Definitely wonโ€™t be...

Not an eating in experience Iโ€™ll ever repeat again. We were 2 tables, both ordering within minutes of each other. 1 tables food came, starter not edible, half their main course came, wrong order with some. 2nd table, starters came with drinks, fine, 35 minutes passed, during which a similar sized group to ours came and got served all their food and left, no-one came to check on 2nd table to clear starter plates, and eventually I had to go inside to ask about the main courses for 2nd table. An aggressive reply came back at me โ€˜telling meโ€™ there was a waiting time, when in actual fact nobody whoโ€™d come to us at the very start of the booking had said anything about that at all. Then after a further wait, and a second visit inside, staff appear with extremely over cooked inedible food. 2 of the meals couldnโ€™t be eaten as they were solid, and salad served on a hot plate. The manager was asked for and came out with a staff member and stands over us, hands on hips in a VERY aggressive manner and proceeds to โ€˜tell usโ€™ whatโ€™s going to happen. After asking them not to be so aggressive they did apologise and offer a refund for the 2nd tables meals. All in all, a very disappointing visit and rest assured none of us will ever go back...

One star for the diabolical parking 'scam' we was not informed of the parking protocol on ordering drinks. On the first notice of prosecution, we phoned to ask for redemption. Nothing ! 4 more times I have asked, eventually speaking to the General manager who assured me that he would deal with the problem...... we have now been issued with a summons! So obviously not delt with. We intend to move to the area, I will be taking this up personally with the management! As requested photo of demand letter. Manager has assured me that this has been delt with...... Time will tell. SECOND NIP. Management lie! Not been cancelled as stated above. ( photo attached) There's a new Video on the King's head site showing the new parking scheme, pity this was not in place before we visited! Now sorted, Manager did finally did sort it out, we didn't pay.

Absolutely fantastic visit to The Kings Head. Greeted by exceptionally friendly staff, seated at our reserved table which was prepped perfectly. A very warm and welcome vibe throughout the venue. The menu is fantastic, something for everyone and different to the typical pub menus you get. Service was quick and efficient and let me tell you the food was incredible! There were 7 of us and we all had something different, every single one of us commented how great the meals were. The puddings were unbelievable and really tasty! The pricing is absolutely spot on, reasonable enough that you can enjoy a lovely family meal on any budget. Canโ€™t wait to return!

Absolutely fantastic visit to The Kings Head. Greeted by exceptionally friendly staff, seated at our reserved table which was prepped perfectly. A very warm and welcome vibe throughout the venue. The menu is fantastic, something for everyone and different to the typical pub menus you get. Service was quick and efficient and let me tell you the food was incredible! There were 7 of us and we all had something different, every single one of us commented how great the meals were. The puddings were unbelievable and really tasty! The pricing is absolutely spot on, reasonable enough that you can enjoy a lovely family meal on any budget. Canโ€™t wait to return!
