We came to the tilted barrel with a grandparent for a late lunch on a weekend. Therefore this review is just of the restaurant not the hotel. There is a large amount of free parking but it seemed very busy so plan ahead. Service was friendly and professional if a little slow (only one staff member was handling all orders and serving). All the meals had good portion sizes for the price. I had the pie with veg for my main. The pie was good quality and the veg selection was decent but as others have said the choice to part peel but not roast them meant they let the rest of the meal down. The pudding however was terrific.

We booked a meal for my Dad's Birthday last week and we can honestly say it was a wonderful experience. From the minute we walked in the service was impeccable and the staff and owners were so friendly. They recommended dishes and the quality of the food was superb. The desserts... Well absolutely beautiful, Leanne you are a talent! All round a great place to eat and drink. Highly recommended. Thank you from us all x

Another delicious lunch at the Tilted Barrel. Great village pub and restaurant serving consistently high quality food. Would recommend the Ploughman's lunch, fish pie, fish and chips or cauliflower steak, plus any of the sandwiches. Having said that, I've never had a disappointing meal here, so take your pick from the extensive menu.

Had lunch on Friday with Wife, booked for 12:45, finally got served meal @ 13:50, was hoping for a quick lunch as working from home, apparently they were a Chef down. Anyway down to the meal Fish and Chip special great and good value, however Wife ordered Char grilled Tuna with Salad and Potatoes @ £12.95, she likes Tuna a little overdone but was unable to eat 50% due to the Tuna Steak being completely dried out overcooked and no Sauce or dressing, she was starving too never known her to leave Tuna. OK these things happen pointed out to staff at time of asking for bill and at time of paying for bill, only a quick sorry about that, no bill adjustment (wasn't my primary focus) forthcoming so paid the £32.00 inc drinks (pint and a wine), but completely disappointing especially seen I am local and if good would of provided a lot of repeat business. Nice surroundings and atmosphere but need to move up a level for the pricing at lunchtime. A little understanding and customer interaction would of avoided this negative review, I did give two opportunities...

Definitely gone downhill! This used to be my favorite place to go as the waitress used to be lovely. Waitress today...very passive-aggressive. Not what you want when you go to such a nice place compared to Waltham's competition, the King's Head. And this visit, I wish I had gone there! When paying their prices, I expect excellence. Not ordering brie bites for a starter and only getting three, and they weren't full of brie or even just getting an empty shell. I had the duck, which was lovely, but we ordered the beef stroganoff, and the rice was cold! 🤮🤢 Undercooked rice is a risk unless you have just microwaved it. But as it was cold, you didn't microwave it. 🤔 It came back 5 minutes later, but it didn't look as good as it did in the first place. Our final bill was definitely not worth the money, even after they didn't charge for one brie bites. Will not...

So disappointed , we was given a voucher to use at our favourite place so at lunch on Thursday 15th sept we booked in at 12 , we both ordered a prawn cocktail which was £9 each when it came it was just Lettuce leaves and a few prawns and cocktail sauce ! ( very disappointed) for the price , my husband had the meal pie and veg which I have to say was as nice as it always is . I had steak which I was really looking forward to I asked for med to well done , The chips where lovely and well cooked but my steak was tough and I has to leave it , Told the waitress she said I will tell the chef when we went to pay was asked if all okay besides your steak no reduction and no apologies So I’m sorry to say we are very disappointed , we have been faithful customers even in lockdown but now I’m sorry to say that’s...
