EXPENSIVELY AVERAGE is how I would describe my experience at the pub recently. The veggie burger tasted ok but should really be served with a side salad or fries at £16, given the average burger goes for about £10 elsewhere and the veggie pizza too tasted ok at best. The lamb from the sunday roast menu seems ridiculously expensive at £19 when most of the dish was made up of potatoes, a yorkshire pudding, a side salad and what seemed like a 100gm piece of lamb. Perhaps these are normal prices for Amersham but even if you take price out of the equation, I certainly don’t see myself either recommending or visiting this place for the foreseeable future.

It was the worst roast dinner I have ever had. As you come into the restaurant, I see a sign, new chef wanted. By the state of the Sunday roasts, you can see why. After waiting for an hour for the food to come, the Yorkshires and roast potatoes were burnt to a crisp. You get a very small amount of gravey, and the vegetables made me want to be sick. They tasted old and barely boiled. We weren't the only ones as we saw a woman on the table over who gagged and they were all shaking their heads. It was very disappointing as this was a treat with a large group who don't get together often. We will never go back there again

Evening meal here tonight was lovely. One way system in and out and tables with good distance between them for Covid-19 measures. Hand gel at door but this was empty on our arrival, but i always carry my own anyway. Staff were friendly and service was good. We had the halloumi fries and cheesy fries as added sides to our full rack of ribs meal and desperate dan burger meal (as pictured). Portions were good and we really didn't need the additional fries. With an alcoholic and a soft drink on the bill minus the eat out to help out discount our bill was just over £30.

Great breakfast in the coffee shop and delicious. Might not be big enough (the room) on some rainy Sundays, esp for buggies (I don’t have one). Ate at the restaurant for a birthday dinner and wasn’t overly impressed. Humus and pitta for £6 and a tiny pot of it wasn’t good value. The prawns were nice but needed a dipping bread with them as the best bit was the sauce. Burger and chips were ok, but just ok not fabulous for the amount. I think the menu selection is ok but you really need to nail those meals if you have a smaller selection and I don’t feel that happened. The pizza was also just ok not great. Such a shame as I was REALLY looking forward to having...

Food was amazing had 3 courses and all food ordered was delicious, unfortunately service was awfull, firstly they bought our starters out without cutlery we asked for it when they put the food down then after 5 minutes had to ask again, they took ages to take our plates away after our mains and we then asked for desert menu’s after ten minutes we had to ask again as they’d forgotten then 15 minutes after finishing desert they didnt come back to the table at all, I tried to catch there eye while 4 waiters/bar staff chatted behind the empty bar in the end I had to leave my table and go to the bar to ask for the bill! Shame as the...
