The Owton Lodge — Restaurant in England

This is less of a review for right now but just a consistent one. We have been coming to the Owton Lodge now either as a family, with friends, and even with our work colleagues for the past few years. Though I must say, it’s (somehow!) only continues to get better, with particular improvements in the last year. We come a whole range of times (lunch, drinks, dinner and even Christmas!) A quick comment about our Christmas experience… WOW! Even months before, Matty was so on the ball with answering all of my questions about the booking. As well as the 6 of us dining in for Christmas day, we hoped that we could have the three course to take away too for my disabled family member. Not only did they ensure the food was of a high standard, he still rated it a 10 from the comfort of his chair! The food was amazing that day, as was the service. My mum often chooses the OL for her work related outings too, and notes a particular thanks to Emma who served her and her staff for their Christmas do! Even when there was a mix-up with the food (on their drunken parts… oops!), Emma was very patient and is always so welcoming. Every other time we visit, it’s usually myself and my mum and always happen to be there when Matty and Emma are there. Hospitality aren’t given enough credit at the best of times but these two are phenomenal. They never fail to make us laugh and ensure we have a great experience whatever the occasion! The Team Manager JOSH was exceptionally great from the moment we walked through the door. He greeted us with a warm smile and general chat, even though he was by himself for a moment. Josh was so happy to please in terms of looking after each and every customer, much in the same manner as our welcoming. Josh showed that he was true to his job and executed everything superbly! He even arranged for our pre-booked Christmas Dinner to arrive nearly 30 minutes early. The food was fantastic quality and the waits between each of the 3 courses was a mere 5 minutes or so. Josh did ask how our food was throughout the meal, too, even though he had a large party arrive elsewhere in the pub, to host. Josh proudly represents Owton Lodge in the best possible way and I feel he deserves a pay rise or gift at least and some formal...

A very reasonable service, bar staff helpful decent food. I was delighted to return to what was called in my younger days the Owton manor lodge. All of the staff , my father included, met here after work Foster Wheeler's (John Brown boilers) Power Products. I'd pop in to see my old man, and the craic was great... ( As a Young fellah I had to be well behaved & most importantly,be able to hold my beer and enjoy the rich company all around me.......Standards.....) I believe silver service and wonderful silver ashtrays at every table... Staff were renowned for their service... and a smile... In short this place had style...circa 1976-77 I was working at my first project away from home at Monsanto (Later at Sim/Chem) Seal Sands.... Incredible days....
