A few weeks ago I booked a table for group of us on Saturday evening to eat in the restaurant part. Now Before we went up to the restaurant, I should say that the pub team were lovely, couldn't fault them at all. Unfortunately this is not the same as the restaurant team. The two Thai ladies who served us were rude beyond belief. First off when I booked the table, I apologised and numbers attending would vary and be between 10-13 and if this was ok. Assured that it was. Yet on the evening, when only 10 people showed up, one waitresses openly signed and harshly removed the extra place sets away. We were left waiting for ages for food to arrive. And when Bill came, they told us that one person must pay for everyone. Said we being to many restaurants before where they could itemise the bill per individual. After a shouting match with waitress who tried over talk us, she finally relented to itemising the bill per individual. Yet she than went and wrote each bill down in Thai so none of us knew what we were paying for. By than we just had enough and so paid our bill and left. Yet their payment by card system was very slow, and 40 mins after first requesting the bill, we left. Will never eat there again whilst those two waitresses are...
Read moreA very disappointing experience yesterday at this pub. Previously visits have always been really enjoyable and we have looked forward to them after a 4 hour walk from Rickmansworth along the Chess valley. We ordered four starters and four main dishes. The vegetarian in the group was disappointed to hear that there was no tofu as vegetarian alternative as it had run out, meaning he could only order vegetables and rice. Our starters arrived at different times and one not at all. When this was queried with the female staff member, we were met with indifference and what I can only describe as rudeness, suggesting we hadn't paid for the 4th dish which was not the case. It eventually arrived with the mains. The actual food was good ( except for the vegetarian dish which was described as bland ) but the whole experience was marred by the poor service and response by the staff member. We have never encountered this before at this pub so hopefully it's a one off. We will try...
Read moreBest Thai food in not only Chesham, Bucks but possibly England! Really I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I was a little hesitant at trying the Thai food here at first because I tried another one in town which was awful and I also come from a country where you can get some of the best South East Asian food outside of their countries including Thai. I've also travelled to Thailand 3 times so you get the point I have high standards but quite a few people recommended it to me and I'm so glad I tried it because its amazing. I've tried a few Thai places in the UK and none has impressed me as much as this place, it is authentic and I have never had a bad dish. I've tried the massaman, green curry, pad thai and a few of the stir fry dishes theres also a lovely sea bass dish, theyre all delicious. The portions are generous and the service is amazing and friendly. This is the only place we keep coming back to and the best place to...
