The Rising Sun — Restaurant in England

As an adult family, we often frequent pubs in the area to celebrate birthdays. The Rising Sun was one we booked for my Mum and Dad’s Anniversary. It’s very dog friendly with two loveable labradors as the pub’s dogs (?). The Summer evening meant that a lot of its patrons were outside enjoying the sun in the pub garden. Once the sun started to set, inevitably it got very loud and boisterous and we quickly made our exit as it wasn’t conducive to table conversation anymore. Overall, the pub isn’t one to be famed for its food, but the service of the landlady (we think!) who went above and beyond, and simple menu did its job. Definitely a pub for drinking, but we enjoyed our time there...

Very unpleasant experience. My beefburger was completely raw inside and had to be recooked. The steak (questionable) had a foul taste and for the first time ever, my husband did not eat it. After very quietly and discretely saying to Lyn the meal was not good we were told to "just get out". I don't think we will...

Went for a sunday roast and got to say it was very nice though one of the veg was beetroot which I hate though my wife loves it!! The portions were generous and well cooked. As for the pub itself l have got to say the staff were friendly and the ambiance was great. Well done...
