100% take a trip to the chop tank..... this review is for the chop tank only, not the royal oak (same building but separate area)
Wow, ohh wow, ohhh wow.... so the place is beautifully laid out not to many tables which I loved gave it more of a personable feel and gives the guys more time to concentrate on the tables in hand abd to give the service that is required...
The menu is very easy to follow how ever what is not explained is you choose what you want (they are smaller portions) and the chef will choose what goes best with what and bring it out in an order to appease your pallet... its a small plate fine dining place and well by gosh the food in that place is second to none only fault if I had to pic one would be not overly fond on the chunky sweet style chips they have lovly but not a favorite of mine... Oysters, if that's something you plan to go for make sure you call ahead to ensure they have them in... I did the night before, but some greedy table apparently devoured them, so we missed out, but the tempora oasters captaincy made up for that along with the bloody mary shot with one in... ohhhh, my goodness, that's a next level drink highly recommended
There's a spiral stair case that leads to an individual toilet room that smells amazing and is very clean and tidy
And the main star of the show was the head chef!!! that man really has a passion for food and certainly knows what he is talking about - best place i have been to in some time, hands down, we will be back to visit...
I took some pictures of the food we had, so please do enjoy the food porn and take a visit to the chop tank
For me and my partner I paid roughly £180 that was for all of the food we had plus an abundance of drinks may of been 2 bottles of wine plus some fancy gins and beers (hey it was a good evening and we were out for his birthday don't judge) 😉
I hope this review is helpful to anyone who...
Read moreWOW WOW and WOW We received a welcome from Amy that instantly made us comfortable and relaxed in her company.
Our starters were Scallops cooked to perfection and pate and sourdough toasta good sized portion and the toSt was as light as a feather.
In between my starter and main course sofia a you trainee waitress introduced me to Oysters beautiful displayed on a bed of ice with chilled sauces Sofias knowledge was given with a soft friendliness that automatically reassured and encouraged me.
I had the seafood paella and my husband steak with peppercorn sauce. Both were so delicious and again good sized portions
All the food was so well presented we couldn't wait to tuck in and I forgot to take pictures but I have tried to rearrange my half eaten paella just to give you an idead.
If your looking for a great place for a date night this tiny intimate resturant with great food and amazing service from Amy and Sofia this is the place to go Or take it over with your large celebration party.
I would highly recommend the oyster bar at the Royal Oak swindon but also recommended booking first during to size And say hi to Amy and Sofia...
