I During a recent business trip, I sought to experience local cuisine and was highly recommended this establishment. While dining, we encountered a situation where we were initially seated at a table but were subsequently asked to move after a brief delay. The staff attempted to guide us upstairs to a guest room, but their demeanour became increasingly uncomfortable, leading them to relinquish their request and allow us to remain seated. Having ordered two of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, the lamb curry and beef stir-fry, based on the enticing photographs, we eagerly awaited their arrival. However, upon receiving the dishes, we were met with disappointment. The portion sizes were notably small, leaving us feeling unsatisfied. The curry was particularly inadequate, so small that they resembled the size of a small brass ashtray placed in a delicate goblet. , which is clearly insufficient for an adult meal. Given these experiences, I am deeply disappointed with the quality of service and food provided at this establishment. The portion sizes were excessively small, leaving us feeling underwhelmed and hungry despite consuming two portions to compensate. Consequently, I would not recommend this restaurant to others and would refrain from returning in the future unless they reconsider the...

We visited Yak The Himalayan Kitchen this evening (07/01/2023). It was a great experience, really tasty food, very fairly priced, attentive staff and quick service. We were told by our hotel that there was no parking near the restaurant, however if you park in the Britania Car Park (£2 between 6pm and 6am) its literally a 2 minute walk, so really quite close! We ordered a starter to share, a drink each and a main each (worth trying the set meal as you get a bit of everything) and it came to a shade over £45, we couldn't finish the meal so they kindly boxed up the remains which was easily enough for another single portion, so I'd say that's very fairly priced indeed! It was busy, but not crowded, quite comfortable and a general pleasant atmosphere. If you're after something a bit different while being familiar and very tasty then I suggest giving Yak The Himalayan...

We were a party of 7 for my son's 21st Birthday. He chose the restaurant (I've been meaning to try it for a while).Such a lovely smiley hosts! It felt like we were being welcomed into a family home. We started with mo mos which were mo mo more-ish. My favourites were the pork ones; Light dumplings, soft pork, fresh spices. The main courses didn't disappoint. Deliciously spiced, rich flavours and the heat was exactly as requested by each of us. The Everest Lamb and Pork Belly were the highlights for me. Initially I thought the portions were small but the explosion of flavours left us all feel satisfied. I had made a cake and the lovely ladies popped it in the fridge (boiling hot day) then they brought it out helped me to light the candles ready for a little singsong. Now we know the quality of the food and the service, we will be back and back for...

Great place to eat something different. We had the mild version of all dishes and everything was professionally seasoned, the spices were well balanced, it wasn`t all chilli like you get at many oriental restaurants. I read some reviews that main sizes are small, this is definitely not true. They seem small because everything comes in a separate bowl but if you make your own plate you can barely fit everything on it and it fills you. If you had starters will struggle eating all of the main. Yes the sides are not included but this is reflected in price. I don`t know why some people are surprised, it is very common in other restaurants as well. I highly recommend the spiced tea. Would love to try Nepalese puddings as well, hope will be added to the menu soon.

13-Nov-24: Lovely meal with my great niece. Bottle of wine and an extra glass each. My niece had the gurkhali pork belly curry, and I had the himalayan pork belly, and we shared a bhuteko bhat (fried rice) and vegetable momo. 09-September-23: Pre birthday dinner with my nephew. For starters, we shared himalayan pork ribs and fewa fried fish (whitebait). For main, I had the himalayan lamb curry, and my nephew had the himalayan pork belly and both accompanied by himalayan mixed fried rice. Absolutely scrumptious. I've been many times before and will continue to eat there.
