I've been living in Grays since 2006. I've had a few roasts around here and they have been so terrible that I didn't even write about how bad they were because of the old saying ' if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all'. We normally have to venture back to East for a decent roast.

This pub has finally taken up the mantle and delivered a Sunday roast that you could spend all day cooking at home and then when it was time to eat it....(you know when your eyes and nose have already eaten the food you are too full) Everything was delicious the roast potatoes need a special mention (Jasmine's Nana's recipe) fondant potatoes that melted in the mouth and were full of buttery heaven, real tasty Yorkshire pudding along with roast parsnips carrots beans and broccoli you have hit your five a day before you have reached the meat (we had beef and pork roasts)

All this for £12 and you get desert too!!

Olivia and Jasmine are cooking up some real magic in that kitchen and it shows on the plate. This is really welcoming place the people here are lovely (family run) and it deserves...

A listed building so it’s decked out with low beams and wooden floor etc . There are two bars as well where the pub is split in half which takes me back to my youth when most pubs had a saloon bar and a public bar , one of them ( saloon bar I think ? ) being slightly more salubrious where the couples would hang out and the other where the drinkers would congregate. The food is cheap and home made by the landlady which is not something you come across everyday . I had the ham egg and chips for £5 a perfect size meal for me on my exercise walk along the Thames washed down with a soda and lime , lovely ! They have quiz nights on Monday and karaoke Thursday with a dj or live music most saturdays so plenty going on . There are tables outside if the weather is nice with a view of the Thames twenty yards away or so . Definitely worth calling in for a beer and a...

Just had some hallomui fry’s and breaded mushrooms for starters, and the panang chicken curry, we’ll all I can say is WOW , the fry’s and mushrooms were cooked to perfection, but the main course was absolutely fantastic, to be totally honest it’s the best panang curry I’ve ever had, the flavours were just perfect with just the right amount of a kick to it , Complements to the chef. Also I’d like to mention the staff who are so friendly and welcoming, we felt like regular’s,although this was only our second visit, if you’re looking for something a lil different and very reasonable prices and friendly staff then this is the place you need...

A GREAT little local pub that has many incarnations over the years. Always a friendly crowd and a great location by the river for a pint in the sunshine. The Tuesday night pub quiz is a good launch and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The selection of drinks is good, with some nice beers and a good selection of gins for those who prefer something a bit stronger! Many years ago (2001) my 5 a side football team used this as our home pub and would gather after games for a post match analysis and a couple of carb rich pints to recharge our tired bones!

Held a surprise 40th event in The Wharf Pub and as expected they didn't let me down. fantastic venue, fabulous decor and excellent food provided, with many of the attendees commenting on the great quality, varied selection and freshness of the grazing table provided. Music was on point for the event and a great time was had by all. Now to persuade the husband to have a Wharf style lounge at home as love the decor in the river facing bar so very much. Lovely staff, all really went out of their way to make it a success. A* Service and Venue. LC, Jan 2025
