Our future son in law kindly booked a table for 4 people for mother's day. We were firstly allocated to a dirty unlaid table right in front of the front door which was extremely cold, so with that we requested if at all possible to be changed to another table which didn't have a reserved sign on nor noone was sitting there in the 20 minute wait waiting to be transferred to. We were all grateful for this change and couldn't wait for our food to be served. We waited awhile for our first course to be served even though people coming in after us were seated and served quickly. We waited and waited until finally our first course was served. The outer part of the soup was boiling hot but in the middle was cold which tells me it was microwaved. The bread and melted mini butter in a small dish was quite good. Again microwaved. The soup just looked like a tin of plum tomatoes with much added tomato porree. Oh dear the food could only get better we all thought. The main course was finally given to us but unfortunately the roast beef was red raw in the middle not edib l e for human consumption.Vegatables were hard and lack of gravy. This food was appalling along with the service we got. We all were shocked and disgusted with the service and the quality of food served. We had a further long wait for our desserts to be served to be told there was only one cheesecake left even though these meals were preordained the day before. when we made the complaint quietly David just apologised and tried to clear these bad problems with a bottle if Processco which we totally did not accept as we do kot like this drink. we advised David of the poor standards of service with matching po I r standard of fo I d served along with dirty plates left on our table for a l I ng period of time. Sorry but our experience is not acceptable and we are unable to accept this further hence none of our families friends and colleagues will not be eating here again It was disgraceful . As you can see from the comments added 2 hours ago below. May I clearly point out that we were never aggressive during our visit to this public house nor were we cheeky at any time.In fact everything we did was done in a dignified manner and quietly as our family were very upset with the way we were treated. We do not tolerate mistruths and I suggest you get your facts right before trying to accuse this family of anything bad. The trouble is you are not happy with our honesty and bad experience which we encountered yesterday and the upset you had caused. We will never return to this place...

I recently visited The White Horse with a friend, and we both ordered a pint of Abbot Ale. Unfortunately, we didnāt sample it first, something we immediately regretted. The ale had a strong vinegar taste and a sour tang, which are clear signs that the beer had gone off.
We returned our drinks and explained that we believed the barrel had turned. We asked if we could swap for a lager and pay the difference, but were told we could only exchange it for another cask ale. With only one other option available (London Pride) we reluctantly agreed.
Sadly, the London Pride also tasted like vinegar and was clearly off. It became apparent that the pub does not know how to properly store or maintain their cask ale. Given the risk of illness from spoiled beer, we didnāt drink more than a sip.
Itās disappointing to see such poor cellaring practices, and the unwillingness to offer a more reasonable resolution didnāt help. Unless the management takes steps to improve how they handle their beer, Iād strongly advise giving this place a missāespecially if youāre a real...
