Highly recommended Green King Pub with an excellent food menu. Firstly & most importantly I need to mention that we almost avoided booking here due to low ratings on both Google & trip adviser, but luckily my wife was inquisitive enough to read-on to discover why the ratings were low... Please be advised; most low ratings refer to the parking arrangements in the pub carpark & do not reflect the excellent food & service provided by all of the staff at this fantastic establishment. The parking is Pay-and-display fully refundable to Tiger Moth patrons. This is to deter shoppers etc from parking and taking up limited space for patrons to the pub!! My wife & I reserved a table & on arrival we were bowled over by the hospitality, service and quality of food provided during our visit. Being a Green King pub; the choice of draught beers is vast. The property was very clean & the tables & décor was very cosy & comfortable. Its a very large establishment & has approx. 30 tables for dining. It was a Saturday night & the pub was busy. The food menu was INCREDIBLE! We have never seen such a large choice of food in a pub & at such great prices!! It was 7.000pm & very busy... I ordered our food & within 15 minutes it was served. very quick in my opinion for a Saturday night and the portions were massive. We could not fault anything about our meal which arrived hot & beautifully presented. The beer was also perfect, as was the price. I would like to say a BIG THANKYOU to Joyce; the manageress for providing us such a pleasant evening, & also a a big thankyou to Louise who served us at the bar, & proved that nothing was too much trouble when the barrel ran out she offered to bring my beer over to me at our table. & lastly to Damion; who provided our table service with such politeness & courtesy as we have not seen in a pub for a long long time!! Overall We highly recommend The Tiger Moth PH Rochester not only for it's unique & amazing food menu, & not only for its massive choice of beers, Ciders, Lagers & Ales on tap. But most importantly; for its friendly & attentive staff. We can't wait to tell our friends about this proper...
Read moreI’d love to leave a 0 star but that isn’t an option. Myself and my mum have been here on two occasions now. When we walked in we had booked a table and was asked for our name, upon giving this we were told a table number as if we were meant to know where this numbered table was and find our way there, after asking where to go the guy behind the bar was rude and pointed over to a direction. We then asked for a large Coke with no ice and received a glass half full of coke. When questioned the response was ‘no ice means not a full glass’. Myself ordered pie and mash and the portion size of mash was enough for a child. We mentioned this to the waitress and got tutted at as she walked away. My mum decided she wanted to give this restaurant a second chance and we returned 3 days ago. The same thing happened regarding where we were sitting and by the same bar staff also. We ordered roast dinner with pigs in blankets and had a rude waitress come and tell us there were none available despite it being an option on the app. I ordered a burger that came with onion rings and a friend who was with us ordered chicken which came with BBQ sauce. On arrival the burger came with no onion rings and the chicken with no sauce. When questioned the waitress blamed the bar staff and said ‘they should of told you, not my problem. Nothing we can do’ and then handed me a bottle of BBQ sauce for the chicken. Upon using the sauce, mould came out of the bottle and onto the paper in which her dinner was on. Desert was ordered and vegan ice cream was opted for and out came normal ice cream as ‘they had none’.
Overall this place offers disgusting service, rude staff and rubbish food. Would reccomend avoiding...
Read moreHaving arranged a business meeting, I chose the Tiger Moth as a venue, due to it's convenient location halfway between the three of us. I thought it would also offer the option of a meal & a few drinks over & beyond the late afternoon gathering. As driving, I ordered a lemonade/lime to await my 2 colleagues, a pint was produced (half full of ice) & £3.85 charged. I incredulously, but politely, challenged the price & the barmaid snottily replied 'yeah pint of lemonade & 2shots lime = £3.85' & then added that she didn't set the prices (which I acknowledged). £3.85 !!?? for a soft drink in a budget pub aimed at families - absolutely disgusting!! & Such an unnecessary appalling attitude to me.
As it happens my colleagues (both publicans, in their own right) arrived shortly after & ordered their drinks, only to hear the barmaid whingely loudly, about me challenging the prices (not then knowing, it was about me!). They independently queried the serving of a half pint in a glass without the hallmarking measure printed on it & were given very short schrift by the same woman with no manners or apparent Customer Service training. At the time, my colleagues were not aware of the conversation/challenge I had had 5 minutes earlier. Needless to say we drank up & left, taking £60 - £80 of potential bar/meal takings to another venue.
Poor & impolite service attitude & such a RipOff pricing structure is not the way to attract & keep dwindling customers, especially when aiming at family groups, or...
