Twydall Tandoori Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Heard good reviews about this place, so had to try it out. Booked an early table (for 5 people for 5.30pm) a few days in advance to avoid disappointment. Arrived on time and was seated quickly. They only had the option of one type of beer and only the large size, which I was ok with. But may not suit others that want a different beer and maybe a smaller bottle. The worst part of this experience was waiting 😡1.5hrs for our starters to arrive!! 3 of us ordered lamb chops for starters, it felt like a lifetime waiting that long for your food to arrive. They must of driven to the wholesalers bought the chops then brought them back to cook them! When the food finally arrived on the table, I was shocked to discover how tuff and over cooked they were (2-3 chops on 3 of our plates). I have, hand on heart never eaten lamb that tuff and chewy before, it wasn't nice at all! Whilst waiting the hour and half for the almost inedible starter to arrive we had finished our drinks and wanted a second. I had to go to the waiter at the bar to get his attention as he was too busy on his phone to notice customers patiently waiting for service/drinks/food! Even then he didn't serve me immediately, he finished doing what ever it was on his phone first - quite rude I thought!😠 During our unacceptably wait for starters there was 2 other couples who came in ,were served, ate there food, paid and left before we even got out first bite of food!🤦‍♂️ The rest of the food arrived in good time and was very tasty - but was bolted down due to being so hungry.

No attempt was made to offer a reduction in price as a way of compensation at the end - we didn't ask (but this should of been recognised as unacceptable and automatically offered).

Overall experience was very lack luster and disappointing. Would I go back again or...

Second time booking a table here using the website. First time was for a leaving doo, booked it weeks in advance for a Saturday evening for 16 people which was confirmed by email. Myself and my partner decided to go to Twydall Tandoori the weekend before and I happened to ask a guy there about our large booking. He decides to tell me that they couldn't cater for 16 people even though I had confirmation of the booking by email, no one called me from the restaurant to tell me there was a problem with the booking and that they couldn't fulfill the booking. So basically if I hadn't of gone in there the week before I would have been none the wiser. Had to cancel 4 people from our party 😡 and tell them they couldn't go. Fast forward to today December 30th, again booked online using their website, again get a confirmation booking for me and my partner for 5 30pm New Year's Eve.. Received a call from the restaurant to say we need to have finished our meal by 7pm and leave. So no relaxing and taking our time eating the meal and having a few glasses of wine.

Why is this restaurant using a booking service that also confirms your booking by email if they have no intention of keeping the booking even though its confirmed. Absolutely terrible way to run a business, and when you complain your met with rudeness...

Clean, tidy and airy with friendly service. We popped down for a cheeky midweek curry because the place had been recommended to us. We had no idea that Tuesday night is banquet night at the Twydall Indian Restaurant. That gives you a starter, main, sides etc. all for a set price. Little did we know that pawn dishes come with a surcharge and to be absolutely honest, one butterflied prawn as a starter wasn't really hitting the spot. That said, the rest of the meal was fine. The naan was perfectly cooked (not overdone and still moist), the rice was fluffy, but I think I chose my main poorly. It's the first time I have had a chicken curry made with pickle (Achari). It overwhelmingly tasted of lime pickle. I like lime pickle on pop's but it's absolutely not good in a curry. We will give Twydall Tandoori another shot in the future. However, we will select the dishes we know and love so that we can compare the food more fairly with our two favourite curry houses in Medway; Sultan and...
