Stayed at Premier In across from Brewers Fayre in July 2021. I really liked how friendly stuff was, very welcoming and accomodating. Food was freshly made and very tasty! I had Cesar salad on the first evening and chicken was very tasty, not dry. On the second evening I had Sirloin steak medium done, again was very nicely cooked, and on the third evening I had "The Big Stack" burger, which didn't disappoint either. I liked a good range of drinks available alcoholic and non-alcoholic. For desert I had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, it was hot and fresh. Pub is aligned with Covid rules, such as masks when walking in/out and to the restroom. Hand sanitizer at the entrance, one way system, also desks cleaned after each customer. In a good weather table outside must be very nice too. Lots of parking, nearby is a cinema, bowling etc. Prices seems low in comparison to some of the restaurants in midland, not sure about North prices in general.

I visited here with my daughter for dinner when staying in the premier inn next door. Staff were very friendly and we were shown to our table promptly. They gave us a little activity page for her. My daughter had a lemonade and the kids spagetti bolagnase with a side of sweet corn. She ate it all and said it was very good. I had a pint of coors and pizza with pepperoni, chicken and pineapple. It was nice but tasted like it had been cooked from frozen. Total was 27 odd quid which wasnt to bad. I have eaten at a couple brewers fayre now and this was on of the better ones. Would visit again.

Oh my days. The staff here was lovely and took good care of us! The atmosphere was pretty good, everything was pretty clean and no issues. The all you can eat breakfast buffet was amazing! Especially compared to the Toby Carvery round the corner, slightly dearer but worth it! The sausages were juicy, the eggs were perfectly sunny side up and still runny, the beans weren't overdone, the mushrooms were delicious and the grilled tomato was great too! The only let down was the hash browns were a little dry but all in all that was damn good!

Poor service the last two occasion we have been. The last time, for my wife's birthday. It was approximately 7.30pm when we arrived and the queue was long at the food order point. I wouldn't usually say a long queue was a problem in most cases at a restaurant. When my wife placed our order she was told there was a 30 minute wait for main courses and would she like to order a sharer starter. This she agreed to (upselling at its best) and the starter arrived in good time. Once we'd finished that and the waitress took the plates, she asked if we were ready for our mains to which we said yes please we need to get the children home to bed as it's a school night. We sat and waited for an hour and still nothing. Nobody came out to say there was a further delay or anything and it was when we noticed customers where being served who had come in and ordered a lot later than we had that my wife realised how long it'd been and got up and asked for the manager (who didn't materialise). After the employee said they would get the chef onto it right away, it took another 10 minutes for our food to arrive after they came out to ask a question about how one of us wanted our food. No apologies and no manager visit. My wife was livid, understandably, and the children where hungry and tired. We may not go again now as it's the second time with a similar scenario!

It's such a shame this place used to be good. We are very tolerant of mistakes and I don't like leaving unnecessary low scores so I will update the review if we go back and there is an...

We had breakfast here as we were stopping at the premier inn next door, we've stayed here and ate here before a while ago with no issues but this visit was a different matter. I Very rarely leave negative reviews(feel free to see for yourself) but we always need to be honest. This place is just awful 😞..we went in and waited to be seated, and waited, and waited. Staff saw us waiting but didn't acknowledge us for a ridiculously long time then told us we couldn't sit wherever we wanted and stuck us in a tight corner with our young son in his disability buggy. The tables weren't very clean and we were sticking to the dirty floor. Breakfast is all you can eat and help yourself, I asked where the single yogurts were for my boy to he told they had stopped getting them to save money and instead there was a big bowl of yoghurt with a dirty nasty spoon in . The orange juice wasn't orange juice, again to save money. They try And say that there is a shortage but there's plenty in the fridges behind the bar for paying drinkers later on on the day. Cooked breakfast also help yourself....but you wouldn't want to,The sausages were all burned, the beans were stone cold And the bacon was GREY. The eggs were the only items that actually looked safe to eat. The continental choice was poor but did look edible. We absolutely won't be back. The premier inn needs to cut all ties with this pub for the sake of their reputation. It's a shame because the hotel is lovely but this awful breakfast experience can't be ignored. Such a shame it's gone...

Outdated and Uninviting: A Disappointing Dining Experience

Stepping into this establishment feels like a journey back in time, but not in a charming way. The outdated decor gives off an antique vibe, with tables that seem to have witnessed the reign of King Henry himself. Unfortunately, the musty and old smell further detracts from any nostalgic appeal.

The exterior doesn't fare much better, lacking the welcoming atmosphere one expects from a restaurant. Basic amenities like functioning hand wash facilities and safety plugs on mains sockets are surprisingly absent, raising concerns about hygiene and safety standards.

While the food selection was ample, it fell short in terms of temperature and taste. Dishes arrived lukewarm at best, and I struggled to find anything enjoyable on the menu. Adding to the disappointment was the lack of attention from the staff; not once were we asked if everything was satisfactory. However, credit is due to the cleaning staff who made valiant efforts to maintain cleanliness despite the outdated surroundings.

Overall, my dining experience here left much to be desired, and I have no plans to return. Until significant updates are made to both the ambiance and service standards, I cannot recommend this establishment to others seeking a pleasant...
