We had the most wonderful wedding at Woburn Coffee House in July. They were incredibly accommodating with our dietary requirements and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We brought in our own wedding cake, and the team thoughtfully added a gluten- and dairy-free top tier for us, then beautifully decorated the whole cake with fresh berries and flowers to match our theme. The food was delicious, the staff were kind and attentive, and they truly did everything they could to help us. They also liaised with the florist and pianist to make sure everything was all setup for the day. They even hung up decorations outside in the garden in the high July heatwave! The venue is already beautiful without extra decorations (ours was just for our theme) so it really is the perfect foundation for a beautiful wedding. Every detail was handled with such care and attention; we had in-person meetings to discuss all the details and they also helped us to pack things up at the end of the night (we were able to do this the next morning, however they were very flexible and helped us to do it that night to save us a trip the next day). We'll never forget this experience, and we're so happy that we went with them. Thank you all so much for helping make our...
Read moreFor my first time at a coffee house it was thoroughly enjoyable. We were running late for our booking but it was not an issue, called up and we weren't going to be turned away.
Upon arrival, in the dark, it is hard to see where to park but you can go up the cobble stones to park nearby. Once we entered we were greeted by some friendly staff who showed us to our table and explained the one way system. The place was beautifully decorated, in line with the Christmas theme, there were icicle lights and decorations dotted around the room. The place has a very homely feel.
To the food and drink. Well, the first thing we had the pleasure of enjoying was the spiced apple drink. It was wonderful and really warmed us up and tasted divine. The food throughout was a great combination of different flavours and textures which I found intriguing. I particularly loved the meringue mince pie.
The service was exceptional and the staff were genuinely friendly and available to help, serving efficiently and allowing us time to enjoy the atmosphere and our food. I will definitely return here, but next time I will ask what the order is for the cutlery as it confused me somewhat and I ended up just using my fingers. A very enjoyable experience. Thank you...
Read moreHad the pleasure of going to this place over the bank holiday weekend. The venue itself was lovely, lots of very nice rooms in which to dine and a really nice garden area too.
The food was delicious and you could tell that a lot of thought had been put into the menu. It stands out from other afternoon teas I have had given the depth of savouries and the menu choices going above and beyond the usual finger sandwiches. The staff were all really friendly as well and the service was great.
The only reason why its 3 stars instead of 5 is the coffee. I'm fairly confident it was a bean to cup machine, rather than an espresso machine with someone hand foaming the milk. I feel bad saying this, but I'm not sure you should refer to yourselves as a "coffee house" when the coffee is machine made and not, in my opinion, nice tasting. I had a cappuccino, and it was sickly sweet and didn't really taste of coffee at all. Was just really hot, sweet milk.
I'm meaning this as constructive criticism rather than a malicious review, as I said, everything else was perfect. Maybe just get a proper barista style coffee...
