Today, I had a very unpleasant experience at Woburn Thai during lunch. Firstly, as the first customers to enter the restaurant, the only waitress wearing glasses at the entrance had a terrible attitude and asked me rudely why I was there. I was speechless. Isn't the purpose of entering a restaurant to dine? I informed her that I had made a reservation, and only then did she reluctantly seat us. However, when the second group of customers arrived, her attitude completely changed by 180 degrees. I don't understand why there was such a stark difference. It was our first visit, and we hadn't done anything to offend her. The only difference I noticed between us and the second group of customers was that they were Caucasian locals, and some of them were elderly, while we were young Asians. Perhaps she discriminated against us because of our age! How ironic!
Later, when I asked her about the applicability of the Taste Card's 2-for-1 offer for starters, main courses, and side dishes, she immediately displayed a poor attitude. She questioned whether I had mentioned the discount when making the reservation. I confirmed that I did, but she continued to be impolite and rudely stated that the offer was only valid for starters and main courses, excluding rice and noodles, which were considered main dishes. Although we didn't fully understand, we still proceeded to place our order. To our surprise, she said the 2-for-1 offer only applied to one starter and one main course. We ordered two appetizer platters and two bowls of tom yum soup, but she claimed that since it totaled four starters, two of them were not eligible for the discount. She even said it wouldn't matter if I ordered ten servings. Her attitude was extremely rude.
We have used similar discounts at other restaurants without any of the restrictions she mentioned. In most cases, except for set menus, beverages, and desserts, the discount is applicable to all food items on the menu. Moreover, Woburn Thai's information on the Taste Card website does not mention any of the aforementioned limitations. We are extremely dissatisfied with this experience. If the restaurant does not welcome customers using the Taste Card, it would be better for them to opt out instead of treating customers with such an attitude. Additionally, despite the food being delicious, I will not be returning to the restaurant because of the behavior of...
Read moreLast week Sunday was a unique day as we decided spontaneously to visit a Thai restaurant which was what we were craving that day...took us a while to decide which place to visit however I have no regrets that we chose this place 😍😍😍
The entire time was splendid, from the decor to the service to their staff (wish I had asked for her name or even read her name tag ☺️the lady that waited on us was brilliant!)
Very friendly people, not such a huge restaurant but cosy enough on a night out!
The food was flavoursome! Talk about the starters...those prawns were sublime 🤤😋😍everything was just lovely. I can't actually fault anything, that's how good the food was...
We didn't have a booked table considering Sundays are quite busy, yet we were welcomed so well 😊
The wait times wasn't too long, just right! We had the "set C sharing platter" 👌🏼👌🏼oops the dessert was interesting and for discerning palettes (banana fritters and ice cream) tried it but not my thing however if you know much about it then you would enjoy it so don't use this particular comment as your yardstick! 😊
Oh my daze, that soup...I can go on and on. Parking was high street parking and very narrow road that's the only but 😊
Extensive menu, lovely staff, drinks, great food and fantastic company...what more say I ❤️❤️
I strongly...
Read moreFantastic experience! I came across Woburn Thai from trip advisor, and we were looking to place to celebrate a family success. We were 10-minutes late for our booking but still greeted with a smile. The ladies who were serving us were professional, and interactive with our daughter and us. We order jumbo prawn, crispy duck and spring rolls. All of our starters were delicious, but no sacrifice was on the taste. Side note, you can tell that the spring rolls served here are hand made rather than the where some restaurant we have been had just fried frozen spring rolls for the supermarket. For mains, I had the yellow curry, which was cooked in coconut milk, and wife and daughter shared the green curry with egg fried rice. The yellow curry was just stunningly delicious and judging by the look the girls face their curry was delicious too. I don’t know how, but we managed to find the courage to ask for the dessert menu and shared a Thai dessert, and it was worth it. Fortunately for us, none of us have any food allergies, but I will encourage the restaurant should do more to create a menu which details the content of the food to avoid any misfortune for people with milk and nut allergies. Finally, a great tradition Thai restaurant which everyone...
