York Road Fisheries — Restaurant in England

Order was made in January 2024 I'm disappointed to be writing this as I have used York road fisheries for many years. It had been a while since our last visit however it is clear it has gone downhill massively since then. We ordered a mixture of new items and old trusted favourites and our son's had kids meals which for years previous had been good value for money. The chips looked rotten and didn't taste any better. They had a rubbery texture and were gritty. The kids sausage had always been a full-size sausage cut in half but this time both only had half a sausage each. My husband's pizza was swimming in grease and tasteless and my chicken parmo was not edible. It was undercooked and cold in the middle but the topping was again swimming in grease. The only decent item we ordered was the kabab which was very tasty. To top it all off, I checked online looking to see if others had a similar problem to find it has a star food hygiene rating meaning it needs major improvement. If I had my way it would be no stars!!! Stood in shop for approx 30mins waiting for x2 parmos. Only 3 staff working there. 2 of them were just standing seeing to deliveries n didnt matter about the ppl who took there time to walk to the shop. As we stood so long waiting we noticed how dirty the shop is since changing hands not long ago. Arrived back home with food n chips were a weired colour and they looked like scraps. Each chip had black on them and no potato inside. They were hard like they'd been pre-cooked then re-fried. Parmos were cold and no taste to them. If we hadn't of been so hungry the food would of all gone in the bin. This chippy used to be lovely, really gone down hill and would never go back. Will stick the Royal Arms chippy in future. Kebab wraps, very small and cold and are never the same size from large to small after receiving a very small wrap with very little kebab meat but loads of chips and totally cold I returned it to the shop untouched for a refund which took about 15 minutes of discussion, I was asked to leave and never come back buyer...
