Loughton BBQ — Restaurant in Epping Forest

I tried to have a nice Mother’s Day meal with my mum and in laws, we normally collect the food but decided to get delivery for a change. When I was in the middle of eating my food I found the first hair so decided to call them and let them know, the manager picked up the phone and was very nice we made an agreement and it was settled. After we decided to not eat the food and put it in the bin we came across another hair in the ribs and called them back to let them know that there was two hairs and it’s not acceptable. The manager was a little stuck on what to do so he asked if he could put his boss on the phone who was extremely rude to my mother in law and used the exact words of “you’re not clever” and he doesn’t like “customers like us” we never would’ve expected a refund or whatever he thought we was trying to be clever about but money off the next order like the manager suggested before would’ve been fine. It’s a shame that somewhere we always like to eat at has treated us this way and we are very appalled. Would not recommend this place to anyone anymore. Great food, tasty, NOT overly spiced like some place I've been to that use hot spice to cover poor quality ingredients, I had the meat moussaka and it was very home cooked tasting, perfectly seasoned, the bulgar wheat and rice was beautifully soft and tasty (a touch oily) but delicious. With GOOD portion sizes (for the average person, if you're a porker then can't speak for you) not stingy like some places!

The bread served with the meal was crispy and soft on the inside really nice with the two sauces it was served with, the salad was tangy and wonderfully seasoned. Some serious sour dressing at the bottom oosh lovely !

The staff were friendly and one particular waitress was wonderfully accommodating, polite and I felt she excelled at her role, I didn't feel she was being fake 'nice'.

Environment was clean well.laid out and nicely separated from the smokey BBQ kitchen area where the delicious food was cooked.

Clean toilet! No smell, no piss on the floor, very good!

The restaurant was clean, hygienic, tidy, comfortable, big, modern, colourful, vibrant and bright with good views of road and buildings. The staff were friendly, kind, respectful, polite, well mannered, well dressed, attentive, clear communication, professional but can be better and can give takeaway boxes quicker but delivered the Coca Cola in good timing which was great for me because I got my drink on time but can do the same with the takeaway boxes. The food was colourful, well presented, delicious, cooked to perfection, meaty, flavourful, fresh, full of options and well portioned. The price for two lunch deal was £24.00 and one drink was £3.00 which worth considering taking someone there if you want to make important day better for them in a positive way. My friend left a comment which is “It was good, service wasn’t as great with boxes and unwillingness to give more bread.” If you want to have a top notch food then come here because you will have a great time eating food and special days...
