The Coriander Buckhurst Hill — Restaurant in Epping Forest

On Tuesday evening, I rang to order meals for two persons to be delivered. It turned out a real struggle to get my order taken because the person put on answering calls speak almost no English. It took me to repeat 5 times to get my number correctly taken. I gave my full name, address for the delivery and when I asked how much is total, it took the person a little while to work out as he had to keep me waiting while he was asking other staff how much this and that. It came to £21.95. After waiting over an hour, I rang the takeaway and asked for the order, the person took my call said the driver had just left and my order is on its way. Few min later, someone else called me back, and started suggesting that because I did not confirm my order, the order was not taken. Instead of trying to resolve the issue for a wating customer, the person was extremely rude, and repeatedly talking over me, and at what point he started shouting at me to a degree that his voice was audible from the across the room heard by my friend. Awful service, awful first experience. Never use again and I would not recommend these arrogant and extremely rude people. Ruined my evening and lost my appetite because of them. Ordered a take away for me and my family last night. Started calling the Coriander from 6:15pm as the line is always busy but that’s expected for prime time Saturday night. When they answered the line was very faint, I heard more of the atmosphere in the background than the chap I was trying to speak to. Would be good if they based someone behind the scenes to take orders and not the main restaurant area or bar? This is probably why my order was delivered incorrect even after I asked the chap to read it back. Anyway, I was told 45 minutes which is absolutely fine as it was a really busy time for them. But what really grinds my gears is the fact my food was still nowhere to been seen 1 hour and 20 minutes later. I called and they apologised profusely. If it’s going to take that long then please tell your customers before they order as this would have saved allot of stress.

This has quickly become our favourite Indian. I go in from time to time with the school mums but have had a few takeaways at home also. Tonight the delivered meal has been amazing. The lamb balti and stuffed paratha were my favourites to date. I also recommend the ADHA curry and the Jeera

The meat was tender and not fatty. There was no oil swimming on top of the takeaway box as often happens with a takeaway Indian. Everything that arrived was red hot and plentiful. It's pricey, especially now paying for adult meals for my son, but it's so worth the money. We love Indian food and usually eat at The Gandhi at Woodford Bridge or The Indian Ocean at Theydon Bois but I think this might top them all.
