What a lovely place. Tucked away in the middle of an industrial estate with limited parking isn't the way to usually start a very positive review unless you are looking for new tyres or an MOT whilst you eat.
However, that is the outside. Once in, there were lots of elderly folks and families showing that this is not a "hole in the wall workers cheap quick food". It is a destination venue and there is a TV on low volume and newspapers to provided.
Service was excellent and staff were very friendly. We especially chose this for the purported GF options. As a sobering point, this is if you are GF as a lifestyle choice not an allergy sufferer because it is then not "GF enough".
Our coeliac son was unable to have their GF bread as it was frozen and the toaster used was not GF. Other than that, our brunch was excellent.
Wife and I had cappuccino along with vegetarian English breakfast, kids has hot chocolate or fruit juice and Tuna sandwiches (for the non GF ones).
ALl the sandwiches we saw looked large and tasty. Most plates were empty more likely due to taste than small portions.
Highly recommended for a little trip out of the suburbs into the countryside. There are some lovely places to drive through in the area so fill your bellies and drive somewhere, get on your wellies or hiking boots and explore.
Price wise, not cheap but offers value considering size of portions. We would return although we would bring food...
Read moreUpon first glance, The Shed Coffeehouse may seem like a simple exterior, but stepping inside reveals a modern, immaculate, and well-organized establishment that feels more like a restaurant than a café. The staff, especially the lady who served me, offered top-notch customer service, making the experience truly memorable. Their extensive menu boasts freshly made sandwiches with unique fillings, and I was particularly impressed with their hot chicken, bacon, and pepper sandwich, reminiscent of a fajita. The open-plan setting allows customers to watch their orders being prepared, adding to the authenticity of the experience. Their latte, rich in flavor, stood out, indicating the use of quality beans. With reasonable prices and a prime location near the River Stort, it's an ideal stop for those on a riverside walk. I'm looking forward to making this my weekly go-to spot with my child. Highly recommended for anyone in or passing through the area.
For info I have no association with the shed I genuinely really enjoyed my first visit and so it deserves a...
Read moreSuch a cosy sunshiny little spot ! The first time I went here was after that bike ride down the canal and I had a totally delicious New York toastie with Barbie sauce it was incredible. If good coffee, interesting sandwiches and a good vibration is your thing then you'll like it here. Terrible that it shuts at 3, but fair play to them they work hard. Oh and really nice toilets. They have that sparkly lighting thats set in to the ceiling and makes everything look extra twinkly. Great for looking at diamonds, for instance. Posh soap and a little heater 🤗 Wi-Fi and air con. They've upped their game on the tea - mine was the strongest I've ever had in a cafe yet, except for that place where they pour hot water into an old stewed pot, swill it around and give you that, but that was rather more...
