I recently had the pleasure of dining at this sushi restaurant yesterday (this was my second time back and I bought my husband with me), and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly staff who made me feel incredibly welcome.
The food was exceptional and the presentation was the stunning. Each piece looked like a work of art, almost too beautiful to eat. The attention to detail and the care put into the presentation truly elevated the dining experience. Not only was the sushi visually appealing, but it was also the best I have ever tasted. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. Every bite was a delightful explosion of taste that left me craving more.
What impressed me further was the wide selection of sushi and other dishes available. Whether you prefer traditional sushi or more adventurous options, this restaurant caters to all preferences. The menu offers a diverse range of options that will satisfy any sushi connoisseur.
One aspect that truly stood out was the value for money. Despite the high quality and exquisite presentation, the prices were reasonable and justified. I left feeling satisfied not only with the food but also with the overall dining experience.
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, creating an inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail in the interior design adds to the overall ambiance, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
I would highly recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. The combination of friendly staff, impeccable presentation, wide selection, and outstanding flavors has made it my favorite sushi spot. I will definitely be spreading the word to my friends and family, as this restaurant deserves all the praise...

Where do I start? I have so many good points to make about this place.
I used to go for lunch here with my baby daughter (materinity leave) in 2015 and back then I was so impressed by the freshness, the portions, the cleanliness and Jay (the owner, down to earth and warming service skills). It's always very quiet and clean so this automatically gives you a nice ambience.
Fast forward to now, whilst most establishments have gone downhill after covid, Makiyaki went up several levels. They updated the decor (gorgeous), their crockery is very up market and their sauces that are drizzled over the sushi is fantastic. Jay the owner is extremely humble and polite and is a great chef and puts his all into everything his does. Alongside him, his wife also runs the restaurant. She is very efficient and conscientious about every detail.
It's nice to see a restaurant go from strength to strength and their dishes are worth every penny. Recommendations are: scallop Volcano, scallop crunch, Gyoza (very fresh), England, Spider and kingston roll. I have lots of other favorites but the new addition is their pancake desert. Wow..
Thank you for always delivering an excellent experience and of course we...
Read moreSo my sister - a local in these parts - often raves about this place and I wanted to try it for a while and I finally got a chance. Epsom doesn't have too many food choices so to have a great Japanese place is a real treat !! More so for her than me.
We ordered a lot of sushi - I mean almost off the charts for three people - and every single one was delicious. We ordered so much we ended taking quite a bit home and it was as delicious on the next day. What I found really unique was how they blended both hot and cold sushi- so in some cases the fish was hot and the rice cold - but it worked.
The restaurant itself is cosy and the service was decent too. They even catered well for my three year old niece - family friendly always a plus.
What's heartening about this place is that I always thought one could only get quality Japanese food when in London but it's great to see even when one ventures out you can still find great Japanese cuisine. Hurrah for sushi! And honestly if you are in Epsom Makiyaki has to be your...
