KFC Exeter - Marsh Barton Trading Estate — Restaurant in Exeter

Hello, My name is Jeff, and I would like to provide feedback regarding the situation at KFC Marsh Barton.

Firstly, the management level is very low. There is no communication when a problem arises, and the staff often proves to be ignorant. As a food delivery worker, I have noticed that when I collect orders for online customers, I am ignored or left waiting for a long time.

Additionally, the front-of-house staff speak very loudly in a foreign language, not in English, which creates discomfort and a lack of professionalism.

A serious issue is how orders are prioritized: deliveries are put on hold for 20–25 minutes, while in-restaurant customers are served immediately. During this time, online customers’ food remains prepared but is not handed to the delivery drivers. As a result, orders are delayed, and we, the delivery workers, lose time and money, not even covering the minimum wage.

The manager does not step in to support the team, preferring to stay in the back without offering assistance. For example, yesterday I waited 20 minutes for an order, while on the screens it was clearly visible that other, newer orders from in-restaurant customers were being served before ours. The explanation that we must wait for the Mini Fillet makes no sense, as these were already cooked and served to in-restaurant customers.

This situation shows a lack of respect and clear inequality between in-restaurant customers and those ordering online. The community of delivery workers on platforms such as Uber, Deliveroo, and Just Eat is considering a petition to address this issue.

I have never, ever had the misfortune of seeing a toilet quite as disgusting as the toilet I just witnessed at this KFC, and I have been to a lot of festivals. Words cannot possibly describe the absolute horror show I have just seen, which is now permanently burned into my memory, and will undoubtedly haunt my dreams for the rest of my time on this planet.

Seriously. I took pictures, which I will be sending to management. But I will spare you people the abject trauma of having to see what I have seen. Without going into too much detail, it was everywhere, a lot of it was dried on, so it had clearly been there a while. The seat, down the sides, all over the floor, there was even some on the wall. I don't know how, or why anyone could do that.

Whoever it was should not be allowed see the light of day again, or even breath the same air as you or I. The fact we have to share this world with people like that is cause enough for a lifetime of deep depression.

I legitimately had to go outside and clean off my shoes in the rain. The member of staff I spoke with did not seem to grasp just how awful it was when I told her. She just said "OK, I'll send someone in there in a minute". I guess they will soon find out. My condolences to whoever gets lumped with cleaning that. If it were me, I'd have quit...

Arrived at the drive through window which appeared to be staffed by a ghost. Could see no signs of life inside and the till was open with no money in it leading me to consider whether they had just been robbed at gunpoint. Eventually, after several long minutes waiting, we were asked what we wanted through a loudpeaker. After I stated the first item she shouted "ANYFING ELSE?" in a tone that made me feel like I was interrupting her nail filing session. Once our order was complete we moved onto the second window which was closed and through which we could see Vicky Pollard chatting away inside with her mates. When our order was finally ready she opens the window and thrusts it in our face before realizing she hasn't taken the payment yet. When we parked up to eat our order we found that the fries were upside down the the bag and was no longer 4 separate portions but one giant bag of fries. Clearly Mrs Pollard does not understand gravity yet. There was also no salt and no napkins.
