A nice place for a relaxed Sunday roast. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was clean and looked well presented. The menu offerings were good, too. The broccoli and Stilton soup was lovely just under seasoned for my taste buds, and the chicken breast might look better sliced, and there was no stuffing with it on trio of meats and there was a bit of blood inside the breast still which was inedible, maybe slicing it through would prevent it being undercooked and dry and it would look nicer on the plate, just a suggestion. The seasoning could be slightly increased on the veg itself, but portion wise, it was very generous and reasonably priced. Very pleasant. I did like the decanter lights!! They looked incredible 😍

We went along yesterday afternoon to have a cool pint of offshore larger which we really enjoyed while on holiday in Cornwall and where super pleased to find they had it on pump here. We ended up having food and my husband had pepperoni pizza which he said was literally the best pizza he had and told the landlord as much , myself I had fafeal burger and chips and it was yum . Would highly recommend the pub great atmosphere really lovely friendly staff nice seating area both inside and out and totally dog friendly We will be going back and have decided it will be our distant local 👍😄

Renamed THE HOOK, We ate here yesterday, meeting up with friends, our dog was welcome, our food delivered to our table prompt and hot, I was very full after my chilli, but the other half went for the syrup sponge & custard delishous. Didn't feel rushed great value, will definately go again.

Low quality pub food with worse service.

Ordered food for 5 people, the food wait time was quick but you can tell why. Ordered two burgers, pizza, nachos and some varied sides. Burgers were terrible, tasteless peri peri chicken as was the lamb burger with the cheapest driest flour topped buns something you’d expect to see from a cheap burger van, coleslaw cheap and warm been under heat lamp too long and chips were rubbish too. Mayonnaise was also terrible, I understand cost cutting measures but if you’re comprising on the quality of your food then there’s not much point serving food? Nachos were good and hot and spicy pizza was also good.

We asked for cutlery as our food had been brought out and no cutlery and the lad said “well obviously” in a demeaning manner, asked if we’d like sauces “yes ketchup and Mayo thanks” came back with only one pot of Mayo between 5 and no ketchup when asked if there was mayo he said “well you didn’t ask for it” and rolled his eyes. I’m not an expert but if you order food why is it not brought outside once the order has gone through in preparation or even put a cutlery table outside in the gazebo area for people to help themselves? Could of addressed the issue on the evening, granted but this lads incompetence had already...

I simply have no positive feedback about The Hook in Warsash. It was our first visit there after their refurbishment. We booked our table a few days before but on the night we were told we had to wait 35 minutes for the service. To be on the safe side I asked for a steak with side salad.. you can not go wrong with a piece of steak I thought.. they proved me wrong in every which way you can imagine.. asked for a medium done, it was rare.. blood on my plate.. so grisly I was unable eat even a mouthful.. the salad looked dead.. so wilted and drowning in heavy salad dressing.. so unappetizing.. and the chips.. my goodness.. cheap frozen supermarket chips half burned.. When our server asked if all was ok I showed him my plate and explained. He offered to take the steak off the bill.. My friend's pasta was equally disappointing.. So.. never again we will go to The...

Took my Mum here for her birthday today and went for Sunday lunch. I had heard lots of amazing reviews and first hand recommendations. My Mum ordered the small plate (£9.50) , we had 3 'normal' plates (£18 each). When they arrived (all on the same size plate) we asked what the difference was. I kid you not, it was one potato. £8.50 for one potato. We queried it, the landlady said in effect, it is what it is. New chefs apparently, plate sizes have changed, pricing is ridiculous. Even after complaining, nothing offered in compensation. £25.50 for 3 roast potatoes....never again!!

I note the other reviews have photos of extra veg_/gravy and the plates were larger. We had a American measuring cup size of 3 florets of cauliflower cheese.

Also, no crackling came with my pork as noted in...
