Best pub lunch of any of the pubs we’ve tried whilst staying locally. Busy, popular place serving an excellent menu; we were a group of 5 on New Year’s Day. We sampled the Daily Roast (rare, generous, thick slices of pink beef); the fish & chips (large piece of cod with delicious batter & thrice cooked chips & salad); the pork belly salad; the pie & the double bacon cheeseburger. All excellent & eaten overlooking the beach & the view to the Isle of Wight. Well cooked, generous portions & tasty, washed down with pints of cider & Fursty Ferret amber ale. Great experience; efficient friendly staff. Dog friendly! Perfect after a bracing beach walk. Sadly we didn’t have room for desserts. We will return!

We visited yestersay, the hottest uk bank holiday monday ever!!! It was very busy but the crowds of thirsty hungry punters were all treated well and we were impressed by the organisation and hard working staff who were melting under the heat and having to running up and down the stairs with their arms full of massive plates of delicious food. Stunning views out across the solent if you sit inside, or access to the beach if you are out in the garden. Perfect place to stop for food and then walk it off afterwards. Plenty explore locally.Titchfield Haven Nature Reseve is only a few minutes away. Cheers guys we enjoyed our visit. Big respect and much gratitude 👍💫 😋🥂 💛

Beautiful location, plenty of seating outside even on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We ordered 2 drinks, 1 carton of squash, tiger prawns, pitta and hummus, and some chips. Total of £27.45. The three prawns were dry, tough and tiny, on a small slice of sour dough with a tiny piece of browning lettuce. The chips were barely warm, they came with a nice dip though. Bread and hummus was fine. This was the second time in a row where the food had been expensively mediocre. This was after being asked to provide feedback on the last meal we had, to which we were told our feedback will be taken on board. Definitely won't eat here again, but a nice setting for an (expensive) beer.

The Osbourne pub is a pub owned by Hall and Woodhouse. The Pub advertises itself as a fanciful place to eat fine food, good drink with an exceptional view.

None of the above sits true, not even the view.

The fact there were clouds in the way of the sun on a beautiful day, it is probably the fault of the Pub and its total arrogance, and lack of enthusiasm for its job, which is to serve its customers. In a world, that is changing rapidly.

In a world that is shifting so quick, with jobs every day at risk of being made redundant due to Artificial Intelligence, it is now more then ever that a restaurant/pub should relish the clientele they get, and make sure the experience is grand.

Now for the reason for the above rant and what the world and the local area needs to hear:

My wife and I arrived at the Pub at 10:00AM to experience the view, have a drink and one of the special full English Breakfasts.

To start, the Pub did not open until 10:20 AM which was only because we questioned the sign, which clearly matched google and stated opening hours at 10:00AM. The gentleman who I can only presume to be a manager, was run off his feet and when asked stated we are doing a delivery that is why we are late opening, keep in mind he knew that we were waiting for the pub to open.

To make matters worse, upon entry we were greeted by a lady, who seemed to not be interested in her job, and frankly seemed as though it was an inconvenience to be there. She explained that we could only order outside if we stayed on the balcony.

We ordered, the pint of guiness tasted like the lines had not been changed for 2 weeks. The Baileys was watered down. Furthermore, the food quality and presentation were far from satisfactory. The breakfast I ordered arrived cold and poorly cooked.

The breakfast was delivered cold.

The bacon was grey.

The toast was cold.

The eggs were cold.

The sausage looked like something defrosted and never even saw a heat lamp.

I was appalled by the lack of attention to detail in the plating, as the food appeared unappealing and hastily thrown together. Considering the prices charged at your restaurant and the 'reputation', I expected a much higher level of culinary expertise and care.

Additionally, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was disappointing. The tables were dirty possibly from the night before.

Moreover, the cleanliness of the dining area was lacking, with dirty plates and cutlery left unattended on neighbouring tables for an extended period again from the night before perhaps.

I must admit that I had higher expectations from a restaurant of your reputation, and the experience I encountered left a lasting negative impression. As a result, I am compelled to share my experience with friends, family, and online platforms, which may impact your business's reputation.

I sincerely hope that you take this complaint seriously and take immediate action to rectify these issues.

I suggest conducting training sessions for your staff to improve their professionalism and customer service skills. Additionally, I urge you to revaluate the quality of your ingredients and ensure that the dishes served meet the standards promised on the menu.

Finally, it is crucial to maintain cleanliness and create a pleasant ambiance for your customers to enjoy their dining experience fully.

In the end, the manager was confronted and he decided by his, as he says generosity to comp us the entire meal.

What he failed to understand, is that wasn't the point.

The world will now know how terrible the establishment is, on all sites, as well as a formalised letter being sent to the Directors Mark and Anthony Woodhouse of this disgusting situation, as I am sure they would certainly, not want service to be done in this matter.

Considering that they were searching for a manager and a general manager with a very healthy salary of up to £52,000 you would assume that the quality would shine from the top to the bottom of the restaurant.

Caveat Emptor.

I would have photos but couldn't be bothered to...

We had a family birthday meal in the osbourne view today, 5 adults and 2 little ones. We were given a nice table looking out over the solent nestled with a number of other families around 13:00.

Drinks and mains orders were taken quickly. Time ticks by and around an hour later the mains arrive, by which time we were all starving. The food was nice and quickly devoured and plates collected.

The other families thin out and these are replaced by people with dogs which didn't appear to be advertised, so beware of this if you're taking little one in and not all dogs are well behaved.

We're then looking forward to deserts and the menus arrive, we've all decided and await the server to return. Finally they arrive and our desert order is placed, and time ticks by until 40 minutes have ellasped for ice cream and cake to emerge, by this time everyone is looking to eat their desert, pay up and leave.

The bill is requested and finally the card machine arrives and we can pay and leave. So all in all 2 and a half hours for main and desert, service was incredibly poor as one server was stretched very thin during the lunchtime rush.

All in all a poor experience for a birthday meal so not returning...

We came here with the children for dinner one evening and we were very disappointed. My other half had gammon which was more like a piece of bacon than a nice thick bit of gammon you would expect, there was also only about 10 chips. My teenagers ordered the steak pie meals which were the size of pork pies and not even hot, and they were accompanied with a few cold vegetables. We called the waitress over to complain and she wasn't overly apologetic, she eventually came back with 2 new pies which were put on to the plates with the old pies and cold veg!! I would have expected them to take the lot away and come back with fresh, hot meals. When it was time to pay we were left waiting and waiting as the staff were too busy chatting amongst themselves. we even got up and stood at their little desk to make the point that we wanted to pay and they still ignored us for a good while. We paid in full begrudgingly as we are not the type of people to make a fuss. however, there is no chance of us ever going here again. Not even if someone else was paying! Go to The Crofton or Golden Bowler, better service, much better food and cheaper too. In this case you do not get what...
