One of the worst meals I have ever been served!I I was staying at the hotel over the road who don’t offer food on a Tuesday so was recommended 2 local pubs in this village, unfortunately I made the wrong choice and came here. I sat in the restaurant tucked out of the way, I ordered the steak with hand cut chips. The service was quite efficient, however, when the food arrived my eyes were immediately drawn to what I can only believe was the peppercorn sauce, it resembled microwaved mayonnaise that the chef had tipped a whole pot of peppercorns in, looked disgusting and was completely tastless. The description of hand cut chips on the menu, turned out to be frozen, not hand cut and hardly contained any potato. I hadn’t been given a steak knife by the waitress, so started to eat the steak with the standard cutlery, the steak wasn’t too bad but half of it was inedible fat. When I complained to the waitress that the food was terrible, she just looked at me blankly and then just walked off, no apology, nothing. I went up to the bar to reluctantly pay for the food, given I had complained I wasn’t offered any sort of discount and in fact waitress tried to over charge me, when I questioned the bill she rectified it. Had I not have been travelling n my own I would have definitely refused to pay for this meal, I had no option on this review to upload photographs Terrible food, terrible service
