Great Canadian Eatery — Restaurant in Fermanagh and Omagh District

This recently opened little unassuming place, close to the heart of Enniskillen is no ordinary takeaway food outlet. Took me a minute to find it even after the satnav got me to within 50 metres or so.

I had watched online for some weeks the food that the owner Mike was creating - and I say ‘creating’ because there’s no flinging on and flipping of factory made patties here. I was determined to get there to try the burgers and when I finally did I was not disappointed.

Mike is a really friendly gent with a warm character. Treated me more like I’d just entered a bespoke suit shop than a hot food takeaway. What a guy.

It was a quieter weekday evening when I visited, so I had the pleasure of my order being taken by the man himself. It didn’t feel like anywhere else.It felt like Mike had taken a solemn request to create something for me and would be going back to the kitchen to use his talent, inspiration and expertise methodically (which he did), rather than go back of house and switch on a production line.

Maybe that’s a Canadian thing or just Mike, but I felt at home and felt valued as a customer. First for me standing in a takeaway joint.

The burgers are all 4oz and you can order a single, double, triple or quadruple burger. I skipped lunch in preparation and went for the triple burger.

I don’t use this word lightly when I say the burger I received was truly heavenly. Moist but not greasy, unbelievably flavoursome and the dressings tasted so fresh, complementing the meat perfectly. It’s the best burger I have ever had in my life bar none and I’m fussy about my burgers. I don’t care how Mike achieved it, as long as he keeps doing it. Amazing!

For the work of art and culinary delight that Mike produced, it was extraordinary value for money and despite the care and attention applied, the wait wasn’t really any longer than that in any other takeaway I’ve visited.

I can’t wait to go back. I want to try the poutine, wings by the pound and Mike’s other Canadian menu...

This place is really fantastic.

Proper burgers that are seasoned and cooked to perfection and speak for themselves without having to be swimming in sauces etc. Just a little lettuce, onion, ketchup and mustard and you are in for a real treat!

The handcut chips are superb and I don't think you could find anything like them in town. The poutine is proper poutine with proper cheese curds too, very tasty 👌

Chef Mike and Paula are super friendly and seem really passionate about what they are doing. There are regularly new things on trial with the menu - I just finished the "Paula special" and a double patty burger and had to come on to leave a review!
