Really lovely cafe, dog friendly, lovely staff and huge portions. The Biscoff milkshake is amazing! My partner even said his burger was one of the best burgers he's ever eaten. The tomato & basil pasta was a huge serving (I couldn't finish it!) Irequested a different cheese instead of the parmesan on top which was very helpful & staff didn't mind. Only thing that takes it from a 5* to a 4* was the way the menu was labelled. Usually, vegetarian food in any resteraunt is labeled with a V and vegan with a VE, gluten free GF etc.
I found it a bit confusing that some foods that I pressume are vegetarian, such as the Veggie Burger, didn't have that V labelling, but other foods that seemingly vegetatian did have this labelling.
Concerningly, this green "V" (Which likely means vegetarian) was next to a tomato and basil pasta dish - but this dish contains parmesan cheese, which is not vegetarian. So the whole situation with having random green "v"s on the menu is very misleading & confusing. I know this probably seems very minor, but as a vegetarian I rely on food descriptions & labelling to know what I can and can't eat - if I didn't have prior knowlege of parmesan containing meat, I would have assumed that "V" symbol is for vegetarians and eaten it.
Please don't take these comments negatively, I will 100% be back again becasue this cafe was so lovely, but maybe the menu would benefit from...
Read moreCame in with all the kids for a quick bite. Not my first time here, but the first time being seated upstairs; never knew that was there.
Lovely, chatty server. Took drinks order, returned with drinks, and took food order.
Ordered milkshakes all round as it had ice cream in too. We were all massively disappointed in the milkshakes! The strawberry milkshakes were clearly the liquid shake mix flavouring. The chocolate was nicer tasting but still not worthy of the price! £2.80 each 😳 there was no consistency change as expected with adding ice cream, so unsure there was even any in there or more than a single spoonful. So to start off, that was nearly £17 on milk 😭
Kids' meals were tasty... pasta dishes got a big thumbs up from my kids, but the remaining meals were small breakfasts. Took our modifications to the breakfasts without fuss, which was ideal.
The food that was presented wasn't the warmest and small in size was an exaggeration. Tiny breakfast more like! So, for over £53 for a family, I do feel robbed for what we all got. Three of us had a belly ache at home and a short spell on the loo. Being the first thing we had all eaten today... not sure what else could have caused that.
I'm disappointed, really, as I have had a nice breakfast there a few times in the past. Not likely to come again,...
Read moreWent there and to be honest food was disgusting. Fried bread out of a deep fat fryer.. sausages the same colour as the black pudding.. a couple of small mushrooms and to be offered fried bread chips or toast is a swizz. Any place ive ever been to its always hash browns or chips then fried bread or toast. £12 for a breakfast which was worth no where near the price. Big breakfast my jacksy. Near enough £4 for a can and a half of pepsi max. Waitress in a rush to get u out asap don't ask if you're done just take take stuff of your table.if I could give 0...
