We booked this hotel for the in laws based on the reviews and we can only confirm the positive reviews and the good experience. The rooms are clean and tidy as are the bathrooms. Breakfast in the mornings is served and is plentiful and there is a good choice to choose from along with tea and coffee or not chocolate. There are juices available as well so there is something for everyone. In the evening you can eat in the pub or there is the attached restaurant the ugly duckling which serves great food and some more choice. The beds are nice and comfortable and provide for a good night's sleep. This is a great place

We really enjoyed our night at the Swan, a really lovely warm welcome from Chris, who was very attentive, sharing local knowledge. The room was spotless and comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The only disappointment was that the restaurant wasn't open (Monday). Fortunately we were directed to a lovely Italian restaurant a couple of minutes walk.

Popped in here yesterday to ask if dogs are allowed in..... Person behind bar was very rude, just said no they are not in a very abrupt manner. Don't bother going in, very quiet, no atmosphere, no customer attentive.

5 star staff, 5 star food, unfortunately it's a old building. Stairs are the main problem as quite awkward if mobility is a problem and the rooms were very hot and as we were on the front, you could only open the windows for short periods, due to the noise of the traffic. |Greeted by Christine on arrival and was made to feel like an old friend, so helpful and friendly and the rest of the staff were the same. Nothing was too much trouble.|Evening meal on the first night totally exceeded all expectations, homemade cheese and chive rolls started the meal off and to say they were devine is a total understatement, starters of cheese and mushroom tart and salmon roulade were equally tasty and the rump steaks were cooked to perfection, as were all sides. |Didn't think breakfast could compete but boy it did, local products, all cooked to perfection, big shout out for the bacon and scrambled eggs, add this to the friendly service, it was just the perfect way to...

I rang to say that I was going to be late and I was told that this was not going to be an issue. When I arrived the kitchen had stopped serving food, but they offered me a hot beverage and I was told I could bring food in from outside and eat it in the pub area, which I did!. I was given a plate, cutlery and was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. As I was tired I over slept and missed breakfast the next day but they said that the chef would make me breakfast and I had my own individual full breakfast, with cereal, egg, bacon, and a sausage sandwich and a hot drink. I can't speak highly enough for the the service I received ,the excellent price I paid for the room, as it was a very positive experience. I was traveling to Chepstow the next day and it w only ...
