I am usually in the bridal path quite often with friends and their family but tonight I was treated like as though I was a piece of nothing. I had spent money in there like anyone else and when I asked if the bar would be open after last orders I was given a smart laugh and a smart answer. I had proceeded to say that there was no need for the answer and the person at the bar said she can hear everything. She then agreed with another customer at the bar that I had ‘left my manners across the water’. That comment is uncalled for and would even be considered discrimination under the law. I just feel that I was more than polite when asking the bar about their closing times after last orders and I think it’s even more uncalled for considering that my dad’s funeral party was held there only a month or two before and we had spent good money in this bar. I just think that this type of discreet but also open discrimination shouldn’t be allowed by such a well respected bar in the area but also by a member of your bar staff. I am honestly so enraged I have to still deal with such disgusting behaviour living here for 11 years. Many people in Blaydon and across Gateshead view me as a part of their community but tonight I felt as though I was just a piece of rubbish you’d...
Read moreI came here to order food and a drink today. I came in found a seat and went to look at the food menu. When I'd decided what I wanted from a nice looking menu I went to order what I wanted. Taking my table number in my head I approached the bar area. It had a few people in and a nice atmosphere. I waited for the lady serving at the opposite end of the bar as she chatted with the people; I thought great nice and friendly as the reviews said. Sadly though although I was standing at an empty part of the bar so I couldn't be mistaken with anyone else having been served etc staff member came to the pumps beside me to pour a drink, never even acknowledged me or said won't be a minute etc and then they went back to the other end of the bar, sadly this made me put on my coat and leave. I don't expect to skip any queue etc but I do at least wish to be acknowledged. Lost a drinks and food order. Didn't think businesses could afford to turn away. Sadly 1/5 because I couldn't put lower ...really...
Read moreMet up with friends here for a few drinks. It is a nice big airy pub with plenty seating. It was a Saturday afternoon with six nations rugby on the TV. Large central bar area with the choice of beers, ciders and lagers. As we were with our wives and hadn't met up for a while we had lots to talk about so found a corner table out of the road, however the volume of the TV kept increasing to the point where we were having to almost shout to be heard so we decided to make a sharp exit to another bar along the road where we were able to talk. This was a shame as we were ok at the Bridle Path and whilst I really enjoy sport the volume of the TV spoilt it for us. I don't understand why they did that and the majority of the people who were dotted around the bar watching the rugby on the many TV's seemed happy enough watching with the volume at a reasonable level when we...
