I attended 10/10/20 and greeted at the door, however on this occasion I was surprisingly asked how I was paying. I always use the app and told the lady this. She then informed me that I had to sit in a certain area if I was using the app and the area I have sat in for months is for cash/card only customers. The area which I was told to sit in was out of view and a considerable distance from the coffee machine. I explained that I needed to plug my laptop in and that I wanted to be near the coffee machine. I was told by the female 'you can sit by the fire' (do I plug my laptop into the fire?) and 'they will bring the clean cups to you'. I don't think she understood so I explained that I was not willing to leave my laptop on a table with the risk of it being stolen whilst I refill up my coffee cup or having to pack it up and take it with me every time I needed a coffee. The female still refused to allow me to sit in the side near the coffee machine. Due to the female refusing to resolve the situation I explained that I would have to take my business elsewhere as I could not do my work and left. I have never experienced this problem in the previous months at the premises. I find that during these times you should be encouraging people to the pubs rather than turning them away. Contacted Wetherspoons direct and they just told me i should have spoke to the manager on the day and closed my...
Read moreVery disappointing visit to Harry Clasper, Whickham this afternoon. Went for lunch with friends, asked a member of staff to warm up some spaghetti for my 8 month old daughters lunch to be told they weren’t allowed because of cross contamination. I fully understand concerns for this, however they say they are a family establishment therefore surely they would provide a microwave for customers to use for their babies to avoid using the kitchens where their food is cooked. I asked how I was meant to feed my baby to only be told ‘sorry’. This particular member of staff was very abrupt and had already been abrupt with the rest of my party before I got there about blocking a threw fair, which again is understandable but the way we were spoken to was just rude. I even asked for a bowl of hot water so I could try and heat my child’s food up in that and was still told no!! Now that is absolutely ridiculous. Because of this, we left immediately and went to Oli and Joes along the road who were extremely accommodating and had no issues warming my daughters food. Terrible customer service and will not...
Read moreThursday 30/06/22 attended the Harry Clasper after a walk out with some friends. Lovely weather so we sat at the very edge of the outdoor seating beer garden area.
Ordered food and drinks via the app as usual. A few minutes later one of the staff holding our food walked towards us. Then all of a sudden she stopped and without any warning stated you'll have to leave we can't serve you as you have a dog with you. After recovering from the extremely rude response from the staff we were pointed to a small dirty and insignificant sign near to the main door stating no dogs. So our group and our two 20 week old puppies had to leave. The staff member stated I could have my lunch in a box of i wished. They also asked if I wanted a refund. Well no I didn't want my food tipped into a box and yes I definitely want a refund. So in ten days time or so a should hopefully receive it. Really disappointed with the venue and staff. We where the only group sitting outside the signage is very poor and staff really need to learn some manners. And attend a customer focused training...
