Greggs — Restaurant in Gateshead

After 2 months of lockdown i was looking forward to my first Greggs. How dissapointing. I ordered a breakfast baguette. The bread was stale and chewy, the bacon was so over cooked like a piece of cement and not even enough to fill the baguette. Tomato sauce all over the place, not made with any love at all. Hoping this was a one off i tried the following day for lunch. Not one sandwich on the shelf and no effort to make one so i ended up having to buy a bake. I visit this Greggs about once per week in the morning before work. Mostly on a Friday or Saturday. The shelves are always fully stocked at 9 am and there are plenty of staff to help. I find them friendly and always good craic. The shop is always clean and tidy and although there’s often a quiet of around 6 people at this time, it goes down quickly. Come on Greggs did you think we wouldn't notice the bacon and cheese wrap getting smaller or the much thinner sausage in your sausage roll even the bairn commented on his "gravy bake" with one tiny piece of steak in it yet prices remain the same!!
