Below average premier inn.

The receptionist was very nice, we got a family room on the 6th floor (top for standard), with only 2 elevators in the hotel, 1 main and 1 hidden causing jams while waiting.

The room felt soulless, stains on pillow, duvet and matress covers, and they fell off easily, walls covered in stains from previous guests, the TV is ok but is capped at 23 volume, which is too quiet for some shows, the wifi was not good, capped at 1mbps, very slow to even do web browsing, there is no air cooling unit, only a fan which doesn't cool the room very well, so room stays hot for summer 25C°+ all day.

The room faces a noisy industrial estate, and the windows are not at all soundproof, on Sundays they start at 7am-8am (Tyneside express) with loud lorries beeping while reversing. It's worse on weekdays, started at 6am on Monday for us so we never got a good nights sleep, we also got told we were the quiet side as the other side can hear the local gyms air cooling unit and traffic from the main road and A1 nearby, from our room facing the other side we could hear it too.

Location is decent enough, you are in a retail park, with a restraunt (Valley farm) a news agent (Shuts early, there is also a 24 hour Londis nearby) a gym, bakery, Subway and Greggs, but is only really good to access the A1 as it's a 20 minute walk from outer gateshead, and a 5+ minute drive into Newcastle itself.

Breakfast is average for Premier Inn, it was fine enough and suprisingly empty.

Overall, this is not a very good Premier Inn, and I would prefer other...

The room was nice, 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Love the mirrors, one has a square light inside of it, makes doing makeup so much better. The room was clean, spacious and enough room to store your item's. The bathroom was lovely, my only thing was the handles on the bath was really dirty, I'm sure if I had asked, they would have cleaned it, so it's not a problem, I just hate to complain about things, so that's on me.

The hotel staff are very lovely, I have bad anxiety but I felt at ease and comfortable, they are always ready to help you. I find some hotels staff members can make it feel like it's a chore and drag their feet, but the Premier inn staff were always smiling and friendly, no complaints.

The unlimited breakfast was a lifesaver, I was hungover for both the breakfasts and it helped so much 🙈 there is always plenty of juice, which I took full advantage of and the food was delicious, I would definitely recommend getting the unlimited one, it's only £10.99.

The location is good too, there's a little shop, greggs 😋 and a subway. They are all just right beside the hotel, so 1 minute walk if even that and there's a farmhouse inn just across from the hotel too. There's a taxi service that I used a lot for going longer journeys and u can book and pay for it online, Dean's taxis. Definitely check out the metro shopping centre, it's massive

All in all it was a pleasant stay, really enjoyed myself and I will definitely come back. Highly...

I found the bed very uncomfortable. Far too soft to the extent I would sleep better on the floor.||2. Lack of fresh air.||3. Bath is too narrow to stand up safely having a shower. It would help if there was a simple grab rail especially for old persons or less mobile but not disabled.||4. The shower was fixed and close to bath taps.||5. The continental quilt for the bed was too thick especially for this time of year. So, it was either all or nothing.||6. Whilst there was a choice of pillows they were all too soft.||7. The mirror was in a darker place which is not ideal for ladies especially.||8. Lack of shelf space and hooks in bathroom.||||With reference to above comments.||1. Not sure how you could remedy this but I definitely think the bed was too soft.||2. I appreciate this is difficult for safety reasons.||3. Short of replacing bath which I realise is not a cheap option it would help if there was a simple grab rail especially for old persons or less mobile but not disabled. To install one of these throughout all bathrooms would be very low cost and give greatly improved safety.||5. Provide thinner continental quilt with option for either thicker or extra blanket.||6. Provide a choice of firmer pillows even if just on request.||||The person on reception was very accommodating and resolved the problem of a bed not being made (We had booked a twin room) very quickly.||Breakfast was very good and...

5 night stay here so here is my review. Location for city centre ok, 40 minutes walk but good bus route and cheap taxi around £8. The hotel, staff welcome at reception superb dispute our rooms not being ready it didn't matter as the reason was fully explained in a professional, friendly and polite manner. The rooms were excellent, I have been to hotels all around the world including some very expensive 5 star establishments and I can honestly say that our rooms were absolutely spotlessly clean, great decor and facilities despite the apprant budget price! Well done the staff you are a credit to Premier Inns (Whitbread) keep up the great work 👌

We went to this hotel while visiting my mum in Gateshead. The location was great as we were a short drive from the Metrocentre. Easy to find. The rooms were lovely and clean. When asking for a spare sheet for our toddlers bed the lady at reception initially said they'd pop it in the door. When we come back we found the single bed made up and they'd put my little girls teddies in bed! Lovely little touch and made me smile. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was definitely worth the money!
