Came here after reading good reviews. Sorry to say the reviews are good probably because the chippys close by are so bad. Fish looked nothing like their photos, was swimming in grease, really thin and as well as being tasteless, we found some bones. The batter tasted as if too much flour had been used. Watch out for the Premium Cod trick. Ordered the standard Fish & Chips x 2 with Chicken nuggets and chips as they had run out of cod bites. Charged £19.20, stated I was overcharged, then told because you’ve got the premium cod, but I didn’t order it, informed that there was no standard cod left. Thought I should have been told that. WOW just WOW.......went to Whickham Fish Kitchen tonight and had the best fish and chips i’ve ever tasted. No frills just proper good grub served by 3 lovely ladies who couldn’t have done more. Fresh fish and crisp double cooked chips with batter and salt and vinegar were just amazing, well worth the drive from Low Fell 👍🏼

All other local fish and chip shops will need to seriously up their game to compete with this absolute...
