Outstanding Every Time – A Hidden Gem in Gedling
We use Paprika Indian Restaurant regularly and it’s become our go-to place for a consistently brilliant meal. We never even look at the menu – we simply ask the chef and owner, Mr Singh, for his recommendations. We usually just say we’d like chicken, lamb, prawn and vegetable curries, and every time he creates something unique, full of flavour, and absolutely spot on.
Mr Singh’s wife and family run the front of house and they’re always warm, welcoming, and incredibly friendly and attentive. You feel genuinely looked after from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave.

We went for a meal but due to a family emergency after ordering we had to leave so asked for the food as a takeaway instead. 2 curries 2 rice, and 1 chicken starter cost us £45. I'm not sure if the prices are a lot more expensive if you eat in but felt £45 for a takeaway for 2 was alot. Food was nice but not even any Poppadoms or anything thrown in. We usually use a takeaway round the corner from here and pay ~£22 (half the price) for the same. Polite staff who were friendly and approachable. Tasty and filling meal.
Personally, I think that the poppadoms were slightly stale but not bad. My family reports that the pickle dip wasn't very nice, but I did not try it. My dish was flavourful with a good amount of spice - not overpowering. My family also found the spiciness tasteful and not just hot. Rice was big portion and shared between three of us.
