10/10.. Becky has mastered the art of village/edge of town pub/restaurant/hospitality...all inclusive from families with young children to octogenarians and upwards who fancy a quick coffee or pint on their own or fellow retirees like myself ( well I'm 54 ). Her success I attribute is her innate skill in prioritising both Staff and Customers with equal value. I have travelled the entire European continent and a 6 week jolly/rehab in Antigua, been virtually everywhere in UK and eire but she's established a utopian, oasis of happiness in this sector i.m.o. TBF the alternative sector of the hospitality industry ( social club) TOP SPOT has also received similar praise ..ONLY two venues I awarded 10/10 in my considered (but 5 decades) experience . Every single member of staff is courteous, intelligent, welcoming and extremely professional. The staff appear to be very happy, nay grateful to work in the Great teams at both places so whoever is responsible for staff recruitment at both venues knows their onions . I think Scott/Brett ( at other venue) and Becky value their staff and customers, Intrinsic insight to modernise and be ahead of the curve to maintain popularity and move with the times. TGI food is perfect standard for a pub .. Mitchellain stars appropriate at said M Restaurants.. but you are looking at 500 folding for a couple in those places . PARTICULAR PRAISE FOR GRACE G WHO IS THE EPITOME OF HOSPITALITY.. ITS VERY VERY RARE I FEEL WELCOME AS IM A INTIMIDATING LOOKING CHAP WITH SEVERE Mental and physical health issues ... PTSD/BIPOLAR/ADHD . I GET DISCRIMINATED EVERY SINGLE DAY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE DEDICATED MY LIFE TO LESS FORTUNATE . So I'm a washed up person on the edge of society to most...but I never let ignorance beat me. THANKFULLY THE GEDLING INN IS 100% ON BOARD WITH DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVITY. AO THANKS TO THE STAFF AND I RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE ....
Read moreDisappointed, pub staff are quite frankly barmy, seen 2 lads drive in, and park up, as soon they got out the car they were met with abuse by a bystander in the children’s park, and which point a lad asked what he had done wrong, he was then met with multiple racial remarks, and so on,
The male on the child’s park proceeded to walk up to the teenagers, getting into there face, and quite touchy to be completely honest, one lad pushed the male away to avoid any issues and fights happening, the male that had started on the lads then proceeded to get back into the lads face which resulted in one of the teenagers throwing a punch and landing it on the guy that caused the issue.
A another bystander then proceeded to put one of the young males into a headlock, in which the staff did nothing. once the situation was over and defused the staff proceeded to ban the 2 teenagers who had done nothing wrong except defend themselfs from a bloke who had clearly had to much to drink,
I understand our country has its problems but I didn’t think we’d forget about self defense laws, I was a regular in this pub but after that situation, i’ll not be returning and advising my pals and family who attend this to pub to do the same thing.
Unfortunate, and a shocking decision,
Ps, I hope the 2 teenagers are okay...
Read moreProbably THE worst pub that I have been to .And, I went twice! This only because my son is in a wheelchair and the pub is very close. On the first occasion the barman could not be bothered to stop filling a chiller cabinet to serve me. When he did the manner was surly and the bar was extremely sticky. We sat in the so called beer garden - a rubbish strewn strip of grass alongside the carpark, the rest of the outside seating is alongside a busy road, and ALL the furniture has seen better days. On the second occasion, the barman (a different one) was again surly, and totally inefficient. The outside tables had not been cleared in quite a long time - when a waitress eventually turned up she only bothered with clearing half of our table. Trying to order a second drink proved to be impossible due to the incapability of the staff to multi task (the regulars had vouchers and loyalty cards - dealing with this was beyond the staff's capabilities). This time the floor was noticeably sticky, as well as the bar, and the outside furniture was veering on the dangerous. When Hell freezes over, I may venture...
