Update on return visit a year later. As good as ever, food looks great and tastes great, still fair value and place is clean and clearly looked after by staff. UK could do with many more independents like this, its credit to the sector.
TLDR ORIGINAL REVIEW Wish this was one of my locals but then again I'd get somewhat fatter. Came here as in area and reviews and photos looked good, didn't disappoint, if you're lucky and you're having to drive, you can often grab a spot out the front.
Excellent little cafe, clean, efficient, friendly, well presented whether it's for a sweet little bite and a coffee, a full English breakfast or a lunch time option your unlikely to be disappointed. Some decent looking vegan options and water options at front for dogs, sausages are on the short and thick side and were the highlight for myself with the large generous tea. Took Cannoli to go, these were also solid.
Lots of different people walking through the door and clearly has a lot of loyal locals and regulars, all good signs, hope the place keeps it up. A place that values quality over lowest prices but still very competitive for the...
Read moreI have visited this cafe on many occasions, on my own, with my wife and with my mother who is a resident in a nearby Dementia care home. Today I visited with my mother, and we sat in the downstairs extended outside area, table 11. It was about 10.15, and not too busy. The food was lovely, the coffee very nice, and the service the young waitress provided was exceptional. I'm not sure if she was aware of my mother's dementia, but she treated my mum so kindly, she checked our food was ok, she was happy doing her job, and it was something I just had to mention. Unfortunately I didn't have any cash for a tip, and a tip couldn't be added to the card payment, so I was advised, which was a shame. I didn't get the waitress's name, but I felt, whilst the service is always excellent, she took the time to engage with my mother, and that made her feel special. I would highly recommend this cafe, the food, drinks and service...
Read moreI'm writing this review while sitting in the shade in the courtyard of this delightful coffee house and enjoying a large white Americano and lemon muffin, during a work break. I work 2 minutes up the road and often escape here for a bit of me time!
Bean Town sits in the middle of a parade of shops and has seating on 2 floors as well as some outside seating. It's a very clean place and staff are friendly. The menu includes the usual selection of drinks and cakes, as well as a selection of sandwiches and jacket potatoes. Your cup of coffee even arrives with a biscuit on the side, which is a nice touch! A large Americano and a lemon muffin cost me £4.10, so prices are very reasonable.
Tbh I don't know if Bean Town is an independent or part of a coffee chain, but I'd much rather hand my money over to this place instead of Costa or Starbucks! And I've got no qualms recommending that you do...
