Me and my partner visited after my Partner recommended it after visiting a couple years back. We turned up early for our booking, but luckily we were seated straight away. The table wasn’t the greatest, my back was facing the window and it was absolutely freezing, but wasn’t like we could be moved, as it was very busy. We ordered our drinks and food, asking for the all starters and mains be brought together, but about 5 mins later, the starters were brought out. We then waited an hour more for our mains, which wouldn’t have been a problem, but we wasn’t even asked if we wanted any more drinks! It was almost like we was invisible, on numerous occasions we tried to catch the attention to the waiters. When the food did arrive, we wasn’t actually given any plates, so had to wait for them. We was also shocked that the starters we had already had, but ordered to come with main, had also come with our mains!! I made this known and was told we wouldn’t have to pay twice. The food was okay, nothing spectacular, what really baffles me is that the samosas you get in Indian restaurant are always the small frozen variety, not the sort you get in Indian sweet stores, yet you are charged almost 10 times the price! I probably wouldn’t go back, nor recommend this restaurant just based on...
Read moreThis place has a lovely look and atmosphere. Parking seems an issue as outside is double yellow lines. When we got there, even though we had booked they didn't know where to put us , there was a long conversation between them about where we should sit. The starters were fine. When the mains came out our naans were burnt underneath - which we noticed after a few bites, raised this with the waiter who told us this is how they are. Having eaten naans for many years I know the bottom shouldn't be charcoal but the waiter made it so uncomfortable for us questioning our view and acting like there was nothing he can do. If you can taste charcoal it's burnt!! When we saw people around us and the fresh naans that came out they weren't black underneath. He then said to me smell it and check it before I walk away so I know there won't be issues. Please taste it now before I walk away. Very aggressive tone and manners. Then came the bill which for the service and food quality was crazy high. Personally for me not worth the money with such an experience. I have been to nicer Indians that are actually half the price of this with amazing service.
Overall mediocre food, less than mediocre service and...
Read moreWent to Shozna with visiting relatives to what was once the best Indian restaurant in the medway towns. What happened to The Shozna???? Not been back here for a couple of years maybe because of the hassle it is to find parking. When I enquired about best place to park I was gruffly told "up there somewhere" so after moving 2 cars off the double yellow lines outside the restaurant we sat down to eat. Drinks and poppadoms came quiet quickly, after that it was a long wait for starters and mains. The restaurant was packed to the rafters with large loud groups of rowdy people ( we think they were Christmas party's). The food was not a patch on what I remembered, just run of the mill Indian food. My main course was luke warm, and tasteless, our guest were to polite to criticise. After I paid the bill (which also took forever ) and we left I apologised to our guests for not living up to my boast of going to the best Indian restaurant in the...
