The place and atmosphere is nice. But they are poorlly organized. They seems to never have handsoap which is very antihigienic. Also, sometimes they don’t have cash and change so if you want cash or change for the pool table or just want to pay in cash for a drink, they make it very difficult. It seems they don’t want to please clients. Most pubs in the south of the UK have handsoap and change/cash. These are the basics and they seems to lack that. On top of that, the waitress with the short hair suggest i should go to a shop to change 10 pound cash for coins. Poorly organized pub that doesn’t care about their clients. The manager seems to care but who ever is above her doesn’t give her the power to make things things better for clients.
Finally, they tried to charge for a more expensive vodka without asking the client and when we asked about it, they got super defensive until another client came to our rescue. Lesson: you should always what the client wants and never assume anything.
Such a shame because this pin could be great but it’s held back by the basics needs of client...
Read moreWent here after work for a couple of beers a few weeks ago. I try to use the pubs around rochester that aren't in the high street as if you don't use them you lose them. It's not a bad place, the staff are friendly enough and the Guiness was fine. There were 3 dogs in the bar all barking at each other which isn't my favourite thing, but I get some pubs really go for the dog friendly atmosphere to attract custom. The garden is big and I could see in the peak of the summer it being a nice place to be. For me, I think though the bar is too short to have as many seats at the bar, I think ordered a beer over somebody's shoulder is a bit awkward at the best of times, but the locals that sit at the bar really don't like it. I'd say it could do with 2 less seats at the bar to allow customers to order.
All in all, not bad, not great. I will go back in the summer and go to an event and...
Read moreBeen wanting to visit this pub on The Delce in Rochester,Kent for some time. There were about 20 people there when I visited early on New Year's eve. Within just a few minutes,I was talking to someone and during the time I was there ( less than an hour ) several regulars chatted to me. The lady behind the bar ( very colourful hair ) had a nice way about her. The pub has had a massive refit and looks good, it has a jukebox on side and the other side is quieter and has softer seating. The pub has a large garden area. A lot goes on, open mic with a difference is every week as is their quiz. I will definitely pop...
