Betsy's Bake — Restaurant in Great Britain

Terrible communication! Ended up with no cake on the day of the party and got refused a refund of £60 which I had paid in advance. Throughout Betsy Bake was very slow to respond, which I was told was due to 11 hrs time difference. But seeing all raving reviews on line, I went ahead regardless of the slow response and ordered a birthday cake. I asked for collection on the day of the party, a gluten free option and nuts substitution due to allergies. I had to chase to get a confirmation on gluten. The collection time and the substitution requests were never confirmed. On the day of the party I still didn't get any communication.I sent messages and called many times but there was no answer. I went to the address I had been given earlier. It was a private property and no one was in. It was very stressful and upsetting experience. I rushed to get a supermarket cake to not ruin the kids party. I got a flood of communication that evening from Betsy Bake and their friend who apparently made the order. They didn't see the lack of communication as an issue. I was told it was my fault for not collecting the cake earlier. I was refused a refund. I don't think this business facilitated professional or reliable service. As a customer who didn't receive the goods due to the poor communication, I should have been issued a refund. Unfortunately I paid in full via bank transfer and I have no ways of recovering...

Betsy's bakes heavenly vegan too!

I think I must have done something very good in a past life to happen upon Betsy's Bake running a stall at our local village Festival. The last thing you expect to see at these events is anything vegan but out of the array of yummy bakes on sale, she had lots of vegan options... including sumptuous Oreo Cake (Grandson) and fluffy, puffy, plump golden, full-to-the brim, 'sausage' rolls. (me)! We took an extra bit of cake home for Granddad. They were absolutely heavenly... I honestly thought we had a meat sausage roll by mistake and tracked Betsy's down to double check but, no, it was the real deal vegan. The cake was light, fluffy and so creamy and chocolately! Betsy's Bake clearly puts lots of time, love and talent into her baking and deserves lot of praise and custom. Well done Betsy's Bakes... you've...

We ordered twice for two birthdays during lockdown and both rather last minute but both orders were delivered on time and with amazing service. Prior to lockdown, we had visited the shop directly in town and my mother thought the cupcakes were so memorable that she dreamt of having them for her birthday during lockdown - despite thinking it was impossible. After some fishing online I found they did deliveries! We bought a cupcake box which was absolutely delicious and catered to our gluten- free mother - without tasting any different to the regular cakes! Because of how easy the cakes were to purchase and how friendly the service was, we decided to order again for my brothers birthday.
