Black Swan — Restaurant in Great Britain

This is the first time I've ever written an online review, but felt very much like i had to in this instance.

I was recently staying at the nearby Langport Arms Inn, and took a mere 100 metre stroll to arrive at The Black Swan.....and what a fabulous pub and restaurant this is! From the moment you walk through the door the atmosphere and friendliness of the place fills the air, from Mike the landlord and his lovely wife, to every single member of the bar and catering staff, with special shout outs to the irrepressible, infectious Terri and to young Ben. From my first half hour in there it was pretty clear to me that this was to be my watering hole of choice for the duration of my stay in Langport. A wonderful, respectful mix of all ages catered for equally, with separate areas for those who love their sport, to a traditional bar area for those who wish to relax, and a thriving restaurant area should you wish to eat - this establishment has everything. I was made to feel welcome immediately, and within days it actually felt like a genuine local to me, despite me being over 200 miles from home!

Do NOT overlook this place if you're ever in the area, you WON'T be disappointed.

We visited in early December for a pre-Christmas meal with my cousins. This is my first visit to the Black Swan, I've been past many times but never had the time to visit until now.

The first thing I would say is, congratulations on placing the disabled toilet right next to the entrance, so easy to find and it was so beautifully clean, should I have wanted to eat my meal from it, I'm fairly sure I would have come away unscathed.

We were seated down the back, next to the kitchen and I found the staff to be very attentive and friendly. I ordered a "childs" beans and sausages, as I don't usually eat after 18:00 and as this was after 19:30 I didn't fancy much. Most restaurants don't like this as it means they are not making as much money, but here it was not a problem, so more gold stars for you guys....

The meals presented looked very good quality and by all accounts, they were indeed very tasty, my sausages, beans and chips certainly were excellent value for money.

We were part of a large group that arrived a couple of weekends ago and I must say I was a little bit concerned before I went in. I am so pleased to say what a lovely experience we all had! 22 meals pre-ordered and there were no issues with them all being dished out correctly. The food was absolutely lovely and were incredible portions on some of them!! The chef was amazing to get that all together and served, food still piping hot and beautiful!! Pub staff also very lovely! This is a family run pub and it seems to value family as well which made it the best place to attend for our friends 21yr old son’s birthday meal. The whole meal was an all round success and I cannot praise this lovely pub enough! Thank you for the experience.
