Cafe Tehran (Persian Restaurant and Cafe) — Restaurant in Great Britain

I stumbled upon Café Tehran one evening, well past the time most places were closing, and I’m so glad I did, the food here is absolutely brilliant. I first sat in for a quick meal, but since then, I’ve found myself coming back again and again for their takeaways.

The saffron chicken with barberry rice and the minced lamb kebab with saffron rice are easily some of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. The meat is tender, juicy, and full of flavour, the kind that makes you stop mid-conversation just to appreciate it. I honestly don’t know how many people have discovered this place, but it deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

The portions are generous too, depending on your appetite, one dish could easily feed two people, or one very hungry, very happy person. The mix of perfectly cooked meat and fragrant saffron rice is just bang on.

We went to this delightful place spontaneously as we were looking for food across Glasgow. We were welcomed by friendly staff and were presented with many many options which yet did not feel overwhelming either.

Went for koobideh (lamb kebab) with hummus which was decently yummy in flavour and texture, but the rice was brilliantly fragrant and fluffy. Portion size was definitely generous so value for money is there.

Brilliant home like food, ambience was different and welcoming. Staff brilliant and respectful. Peaceful music, and good variety of food and bonus dessert options.

I visited Café Tehran in Glasgow recently and really enjoyed the experience. We had the koobideh kebab and qormeh sabzi – both were absolutely delicious and full of flavour. The meat was juicy and well-seasoned, and the qormeh sabzi had a lovely rich taste. The atmosphere is so beautiful and cozy.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. It felt like a warm and comfortable place to relax and enjoy a good meal.
