From the moment we stepped into Henrock, we knew we were in for something extraordinary. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern sophistication and the natural warmth of the Lake District surroundings. Every detail, from the service to the plating, reflected the care and precision you expect from a Michelin-starred experience.

Each course was a masterclass in flavor and presentation. The ingredients were clearly seasonal and sourced with care, but it was the creativity in the pairings and techniques that truly stood out. Every bite felt deliberate and balanced, yet never pretentious. The wine pairings were also spot-on, enhancing the dishes without overshadowing them.

Service was professional yet warm, with the team striking that rare balance of attentiveness without intrusion. The pacing of the meal was flawless, allowing us to enjoy each course without ever feeling rushed.

Henrock isn’t just a meal. It’s an experience. Whether you’re a seasoned fine-diner or someone exploring their first Michelin-starred spot, this is a destination worth traveling for. We’ll...

After doing some research and reading up on blogs, I booked Henrock for my husband and I to celebrate an anniversary and birthday. We were warmly greeted into the restaurant and sat at the table with a stunning view of the beautiful gardens.

The lunch menu included starters, mains, dessert and a sweet. The starters were innovative and full of flavour. For mains we opted for the cod and lamb shoulder which were both delicious especially the cod which was cooked to perfection. The restaurant also arranged a surprise for the special occasion which was a lovely gesture. I highly recommend Henrock and the lunch menu covers a wide variety of dishes and is great value.

The service was excellent we were looked after well by Matthew the waiter who was welcoming, funny and attentive. Each dish was explained well when brought out. You can also take a relaxing walk around the gardens and pond after lunch. I have already recommended the restaurant to friends and family. Henrock truly exceeded expectations 10/10 would definitely...

I mean, it's Simon Rogan, so the food will be great, right? Yes, it is. The service will be great, right? Yes, it is. Their wine list will be great, right? Oh, it absolutely is! It is all of these things. The setting, however, is a bit special: Linthwaite House sits on a hilltop overlooking Lake Windermere, which - as everybody will rightly tell you - is simply stunning!

And, finally, a small anecdote: our first visit there was during the height of Covid angst. We were traveling through and just wanted to grab a quick bite (they offered a bar menu served on the terrace only). As we were driving, I only had a glimpse at the wine list and spotted a pretty special Riesling, available - obviously - only by the bottle sigh. Alas, the friendly sommelier produced a nice contraption allowing us to re-seal the rest of the bottle for us to take away. Going the extra step. As Rogan's folks do. Even on a hilltop...

This is a restaurant located in a 4-star hotel not far from Lake Windermere. The course menu priced at 95 pounds per person, the rich and excellent wine list(unique British wines that I had not experienced), simple yet detailed and carefully curated menu that is characteristic of boutique hotels, were all satisfactory. It was a rainy and stormy early December night, but the food, comfortable ambiance, and amazing detailed service here were something that I would remember for a long time. This restaurant, which was crowded even in this cold weather, was a catalyst for the experience of British fine dining. As a hotel guest, I had breakfast here the next morning. It was impressive to see the same but different English breakfast. The only flaw was that there was no fresh squeezed juice. But despite that, it is a place I would definitely come back to.
