Stayed at Brooklands with my 12 & 10 year olds for one night prior to a fell race in the area. The owners were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Showing us to our room and explaining the breakfast order process and inquiring how our journey had been and what our plans were. At this point, they very kindly offered to prepare our breakfast a little earlier than their scheduled times to accommodate us - which I did not expect them to do as I had clear view of their breakfast times before booking and was planning to grab something when we got to our race.||The b&b is in a good spot. I found it easily, good space to park. After being in the car for a while, the walk down into Bowness (about 20minutes to the restaurant we had booked) was nice.||We all had a good night sleep, the beds & pillows were very comfortable.||In the morning we again had a nice chat with the owners, breakfast was lovely, good quality bacon and sausage and eggs exactly as we liked them. The children also enjoyed the cereal before their cooked food arrived. I had also mentioend that I had forgotten an item of clothing that I was planning on wearing, very kindly the owner mentioned that she had just popped one of what I needed into a charity shop bag, went and dug it our and it fit great - very much appreciated!||We would return as we felt it was a good option for us and good...

On arrival, the setting for Brooklands was breath taking. Woodlands and mountains were the view from my window...absolutely stunning.
My plan for the bank holiday was to recharge my batteries, take a step back from my life and breathe.
Travelling on my own, I wanted to stay somewhere that was traditional, homely and safe. Brooklands was indeed everything I wanted and more.
Karen and Andy were the perfect hosts, made me feel straight at home from the moment I got there. Extremely friendly and approachable, and they made you feel incredibley welcome.
The breakfasts were delicious...Karen makes the most perfect poached eggs so make sure you sample them when you visit.
For me Brooklands was a home from home, and I have already booked again for next year. It really was the sanctuary I needed. And I can't wait to return next year.
Thank you Karen and Andy I've had an extremely...
Read moreA beautiful little guest house where the owners are really welcoming and helpful. Checking in was quick and simple. The ideal place to stay for the great north swim in Windermere. with like minded people staying there. The breakfasts were lovely and even accommodated me with my own personal treat that wasn't on the menu but they did for me personally ( a slice of fried bread with my poached egg) delicious! It was a lovely quiet place to stay with all the amenities I needed. Beautiful places to visit very near by and excellent views while walking. You couldn't find a nicer family to stay with and be looked after by, I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for a great weekend at your...
