Kofi Kade — Restaurant in Great Britain

I'd been meaning to drop in here for a while, as we have been buying Sausome (the Sri Lankan chilli sauce made and sold by the owner) for most of this year. My supply was running low so I made the trip to visit the cafe I know he had opened to pick up some sauce and to try one of the sandwiches as an extra plus to the journey. Firstly, I was greeted very warmly on entering, made to feel welcome. I ordered one of the vegan sandwiches and a coffee. My order was made fresh and I didn't wait too long. The sandwich was delicious! I will be back to try the other vegan option with my wife asap! Another unexpected pleasure was the high quality coffee! I am admittedly a coffee snob, and just expected an average americano. Wrong! It was a beautiful cup! And talking to the owner, as with all the other ingredients and supplies, they are all locally sourced. I would recommend this place highly for a delicious Sri Lankan sandwich and a coffee. There isn't much space to sit - it's not really a cafe destination as such, but I'll be heading back. There are a few seats inside and a table and chairs on the street. I don't live in Glasgow, so it's a special diversion for me to go there, but...

Cute shop with excellent sandwiches. We were looking for a flavoursome sandwich and this shop delivered. The sandwiches were prepared with attention to detail, lovely fresh ingredients and plenty of filling. We noted the meat was generous and the flavours were amazing. Most sandwiches had a Sri Lankan theme, the spice level was perfect medium but you can choose hotter accompaniments such as lime chilli sauce if you wanted. We had a steak and cheese with curry mayo, another with lime chilli and also the special of the day which was mutton and pineapple sauce. All were prepared on toasted sour dough bread and the fresh cabbage, salad and carrot was chopped to perfection.

The owners were extremely friendly and we would love to visit Kofi Kade again when in Glasgow as they made a great impression on us.

I preordered the Sunday special rice box through instagram. It was a black pepper lamb with creamy lentils and rice, plus a shiitake mushroom dish also with creamy lentils and rice.

When I went in to collect the order the staff were so lovely. Calling me by my name (always give kudos for this!) and generally very chatty and friendly.

The food was outstanding. So full of flavour and the lamb was beautifully cooked. The kick from the black pepper was just perfect and a nice heat. The mushrooms were something special! I would keep a big jar of them in my fridge to add into sandwiches or eat with grilled meats etc

Would definitely recommend kofi kade to anyone! I will definitely be back to try more of their...
