Born and raised in the Southside of Glasgow, I’ve only ever known that intersection of Cathcart Road as the dark-blue tinged “The Card Depot” – but never once went in. Never knowing what its purpose was (despite the fact it felt familiar). Even when it permanently closed, it still felt familiar. At this point, I really expected it to be nothing more than an architectural ghost. How wrong I was...
Welcome the brand-new and zestful “The Chaat Corner”. Compared to its predecessor, the energy of the place is in its own league. It is quite the revamp: cocooning with colours, creativity and sounds, greeting you within your first step.
Their menu is brimming – an authentic snapshot of Pakistani cuisine lassoed with sincerity. Furthermore, their preparation ensues a personal touch; that being, a home-cooked food vibe. You can’t rush art.
My highlights, so far, would be their chicken-and-sweetcorn soup. A hearty hug that feels so detailed within each scoop of your spoon. The samosa chaat: a thorough jam-packed presentation; of what I consider to be a staple of Pakistani food. The staff are a joy and more than happy to navigate you through their menu – alongside making you feel welcome; whether you’re sitting in or taking away.

This is how we show our love, through Food…." (full statement on their website). In a world where food and hospitality is (and has always been) a universal language, “The Chaat Corner” reminds us of this – whilst delivering on this.
“The Chaat Corner” is becoming more than just a corner. “The Chaat Corner” is centre-stage – deserving to...
Read moreDon't know about the food but the Faluda is absolutely terrible. Left very disappointed. A lot of milk, a little vermicelli, some kulfi, and 1/2 a glass of ice!! No jelly, no nuts, bits of ice in each mouthful very very poor. Bought 3 each one had the same issue. Left really disappointed, and feeling as though we had been ripped off.....
Update.... Following response from the vendors below the defense is that we were advised what the ingredients were. You have missed the point. The fact is HALF of the Faluda was Ice. In all 3. That's not on in anyone's book. Getting a mouthful of ice in each bite is not very nice, and definitely not a good Faluda....

If you're looking for authentic Pakistani street food, Chaat Corner on Cathcart Road is the place to go! I tried the gol gappay (panipuri), burger, and paratha, and each one was spot on in taste and freshness. The gol gappay were perfectly crispy and filled with flavorful chutneys and spices – just like you’d find back home! The burger had an incredible desi twist with spices that made it so unique and delicious. And the paratha was warm, flaky, and absolutely comforting. Friendly staff and quick service. Highly recommend if you're craving true, authentic street...
