Ramsays Halal Supper Shop — Local services in Great Britain

Visited this chippy for the first time today. Bought their two piece fish supper for £8.10. I have to agree with another reviewer that their chips portion is very small compared to other chip shops. This is the reason I reduced a star from the review as they haven't still learnt from a previous review in spite of commenting on it. I hope I see a change from the management rather than a comment from the owner for the customer to ask for more chips next time!

Fish is similar to many other chip shops in Glasgow, good that it's made fresh. Only issue that is common amongst the fish n chips shops up in Scotland is that they only have butterflied haddock. This tends to make it more batter less fish when fried. Down South almost all chippies have a nice chunky cod as the default fish choice which to me tends to be better than haddock.

Update 09/01/2022 after owner's comment: My feedback still stands and it is contructive criticism, which as an owner should be taken on board in order to improve. We have a recent reviewer also commenting on the chips portion size being too small, and I am a normal portion size eater. Have had several fish n chips over my life where I have been unable to finish my chips in most of the places, me being a lesser eater; however this was not the case at your place.(Your chips were very good BTW as chips should normally be).

And to be fair how many people would one ever find complaining about chip portion sizes? I cannot see that anywhere in any review for your chippie, in fact if portion sizes are generous that will be added as a compliment but never a complaint!

Terrible service and greasy food.

So normally I go here every so often Because it is very greasy and it’s not the best fish and chips in the world but tonight I did what I normally do and rang up to make an order for collection. Anyway when I got there I join the queue but I rang them to ask what I should do because obviously I’d already ordered and I was in a rush hence why I ordered over the phone so the man on the phone told me to wait by the window 30 minutes after ordering on the phone and it must’ve been outside the shop for 15 mins and then another guy popped his head round the corner of the window and tells me I have to join the queue 🤨

The whole point of ordering over the phone is that you can get it when you get there not join the queue otherwise there’s no point whatsoever.

Plus the fact that one guy was telling me one thing and then when I got there the other guy told me another.

honestly the worst service I’ve ever had a fish and chip shop and quite frankly I’m not waiting around for just about edible fish and chips.

luckily though I found marinas Round the corner which after having their fish and chips he’s finally a fish and chip shop worth going to but yeah absolutely not a chance in hell I’m ever going back to Ramsey’s.

If I could give them -5 stars I would without a doubt.

Discovered this place yesterday for the first time dispite it being situated in Victoria Road which I travel almost every other day. Bought two big fish suppers. The fish was delicious and there was plenty of chips in each parcel. Met the owner Zain and his friendly staff Saf, Nazreen and Alice. All very friendly people and I had to wait 5minites or so as they had prepared my fish fresh on the spot. There I stood chatting to them about this and that and we had a laugh. Was great to get such good welcoming service and the price was very reasonable too. I will definately be back as there aren't any other halal fish shops in Glasgow and therefor have been avoiding eating fish for so long. They are close to the entrance to Queen Victoria Park at the top of Victoria Road and that is nice to know especially in summer when an impromptu picnic in the park is a must. 5stars for the service nevermind the food being...
