Nomads' BBQ — Restaurant in Great Britain

First off...the food is amazing, didn't have an issue with that at all - genuinely some of the best BBQ we have eaten. However, the service really lets this place down and would make me question whether I would return. Sent the order ahead to collect at 5.30 - the queue was out the door when I arrived, queued for probably 15 mins. However, it was only after waiting this amount of time that I overheard that the card machine wasn't working (I only had my phone on me so no physical cards or cash). Unfortunately, the NatWest in Norton had shut that day so I had the travel to Tesco to use my get cash code. When I returned the queue had disappeared, but the lady on the till was chatting to someone in the queue and showing them some pictures or something on their phone, I think she could see I was waiting and knew that I had been there previously before getting cash. When I finally got to the front, I was told that it was a 30 minute wait on food. Not really sure what the point in ordering ahead is, as all they do is look up what you sent in and then use that to charge you? I completely understand them not waiting to start an order without some guarantee it is gonna be paid for, but we would have happily paid online for the order if that was an option. I only took £100 cash out and worked out the order was due to be about £90 (this was for 5 adults - each had a burger, one lot of fries, one loaded fries and one loaded Mac and cheese). Was charged £97 something and when I checked the receipt I had been charged for an extra burger, pointed this out and the lady on the till said that's what I had ordered and when I got the message up she had just read it wrong but said that's what I ordered, however she did refund me though. Waited about 35 mins for food in the end (so with the palava of going to Tesco to get cash, and the 15 min wait prior to this - it took about 1.5 hours to get food and get home - we only live 10 mins down the road). As I say, the food was great - and noticed when I got home that they had not actually removed the extra burger that I was refunded, so lack of communication with the kitchen from the till meant they had missed out there. I'm not sure we would be rushing back without some sort of improved ordering system, just I can't be bothered to wait that long! I'm really glad they are busy, and the food is fantastic...

Popped in for quick lunch.. Now I'm a fussy toad like mega fussy. So found something I thought I could eat. Which to be fair I did kind of struggle to choose because of the menu having some good lunch sandwiches on there. (I hate sandwiches) so was a tad disappointed when the one thing I decided i actually wanted was sold out...... don't hesitate to be honest that problem was soon put right and I got a bit of brisket thrown in aswell. And It was way worth it (butchers daughter). Yes I still took it apart to find any fatty bits before I bit into it.... but worth that old school beautifully carved ham. And the brisket I couldn't find anything to even complain about in my own head before I bit into it. And bread was nice too considering I have my own relationship with english bread. Will definitely love to go back for my quick lunches from now on especially on the nicer days lovely to be able to just sit and eat anywhere you'd choose to a long...

It was my 35th bday yesterday, old I know.

Anyway a few friends and family said let's get some food from Nomads which I had heard of and was really wanting to try. I can honestly say I was so pleased with the food, and I'd go as far to say it was the BEST takeaway service I've ever eaten. It was a perfectly cooked burger and brisket burger. It was all proper meat and so damn moreish. It was cooked to perfection and it was simple as well and extremely delicious. The price was phenomenal for what it is and I wish the owner every bit of success.

I personally had the Mac and cheese with meat on top and the burger (I can't remember the name) which had delicious horseradish mayo (tasty and not overpowering) with crispy onions. I will be ordering again as I really look forward to trying some more food from the rest of the menu. By the end of the year I'm terrified I'm going to put on ten stone now I've discovered this...
