Called into this Italian gelato cafe as we had heard good things about it. We had heard correctly! What a place!
The staff were friendly and welcoming, we ordered a mix of coffees and cakes there were 3 in our group. The selection of cakes, pastries and gelatos was impressive.
I had the coffee and walnut cake which was delicious, great texture and flavour. It came with a mini ice cream in a quaint little holder off the main dish.
I also had a mocha with oat milk which again was top drawer. My mother in law had the vanilla and raspberry cake with a standard coffee which she said was very good all round.
The wife had a lemon and poppy seed cake which again was great and a caramel latte which again she said was lovely.
All that came to about ÂŁ18 which we thought was great value. Inside the gelato cafe itâs spacious and clean, normal facilities are available with regards to rest rooms and there is wifi. They also participate in the Driffield loyalty card scheme so make sure you scan the QR code!
Based on this experience I think you would be mad not to...
Read moreI've been to Roberto's twice now and had a great time both times
The area inside is vibrant and looks very clean. The staff are kind, patient and knowledgeable. The seat is also comfortable.
I've had ice cream sundaes from here mainly and they have been delicious, and reasonably priced too, especially considering national/international chains charge the same if not more. The selection of treats and drinks is vast so even if you're a 'picky eater' like me, there's bound to be something for you.
They do interesting Italian desserts and common desserts too like brownies, etc.
From what I've seen, the place is accessible for wheelchair users, although it might be a tight squeeze in places.
As for hidden disabilities like Autism, etc, the staff's patience and kind nature help to make Roberto's inclusive for all they can. The guy I spoke to the most (Could actually be Roberto!) Spent a few minutes with me explaining the different options and what they were. He was brilliant with me.
I would definitely recommend this place if you are if Driffield or...
Read morePoor standards have crept into what started as an excellent cafe.
Sunday 16 April at 1230: The staff did not greet us. We ordered a pizza to share and three drinks.
The pizza was not fully cooked and the cheese not melted in the centre. Fell apart. No cutlery was provided, we had to get our own. No checks were made on the food to allow a complaint.
Members of the staff spent 20 minutes talking to their friend and his dog whilst paying customers sort themselves out. No email address or website hence this post. The staff do not care and are either poorly trained or bone idle. No âthank youâ or âgoodbyeâ. Not busy.
Sadly, we will likely not return after this experience⌠Which is a shame as it was a favourite place and the owners are good people let down by...
