Shanghai Nights — Restaurant in Great Britain

Came here tonight with my partner and I have never been in a restaurant where I have been in and out within 20 minutes. The service was quick I will give them that we ordered a starter and our mains the guy asked us if we wanted our starter first to which we says yes. Well that didn’t happen as the lady came out with our mains first when I says to her about it she looked confused as if she didn’t have a clue what I was talking about and spoken to the guy to which he came and asked us if we wanted to leave the starter which I says it was ok to leave it (disaster all ready ). Got chicken chow main and the chicken wasn’t that great very bland hardly any sauce and noodles where the same . Tasted as if it had been left since earlier today and heated up due to the noodles being very dry, bland and even some of them were burnt . The guy noticed I wasn’t eating it and asked if everything was ok says to him about my food he taken it away and offered something else which I didn’t take due to it being a disaster!!! Wouldn’t recommend at all no wonder our mains came out within 5 minutes from ordering it …… SAYS...

The rating would have been higher but for one significant niggle. We have visited twice, the service was welcoming, friendly and efficient, the food was nicely presented, it was hot, the portion sizes were great for us and the food was very nice. The first time we visited we were told the ‘Card Machine’ wasn't working so you could only take cash payments. I thought that's unfortunate, but I had enough cash to pay. The second time we went, a couple of weeks later, we were told again it was Cash Only because again there was a problem with the card machine, I didn't want to disappoint my guest, so I went to a nearby cash machine to withdraw cash We would like to return, but not if it's a ‘Cash Only’ business, for reasons I'm happy to explain if you require. Has your card machine been fixed, are you accepting Debit and Credit Card...

Meal was lovely however I had to wait an eternity for my meal, it was nothing special chicken chop suey , had several members of staff checking on progress ..why the delay. 2 people in the company had finished their meal before I got mine😱. They did give us a complementary round of drinks for 4 ( soft drinks). However it did spoil my experience slightly as those finished had to sit while I ate on. Hopefully that was a one off situation. Although I would say to staff we were a booking of 4 and just as important as a party booking of more. It was quite a special night for us as it was my 60th birthday booked by my father in law that will probably be remembered for...
