More than a little disappointed today , there’s normally a queue but todays was abysmal. Why they can’t reorganise the space inside to make queueing easier is beyond reason. Queuing never works once it’s beyond a hand full of people , when we all have to randomly snake inside and outside the tearoom. They’ve had years to think and sort something out. Making matters worse was the poor person on till, obvs not 100% trained for fast service. On the bright side , outside seating arrangements were perfect , plenty of seating and some even undercover …

A nice spot to enjoy a brew -or a veggie curry pastie in my case today. 🤤 'Tis a shame due to ongoing Pandemic precautions the usual seating's outdoor only, but it's still a very scenic spot overlooking the adjacent lake. Sorry no snap of the veg curry pastie, but here's one of the cute Jackdaw that I gave a few crust crumbs.

The Tearoom,it goes without saying was exceptionally busy, that's not too hard to work out when you consider hundred of visitors are wandering round this magnificent attraction having probably walked the equivalent of a "half marathon"on a sunny day, needless to say it was very good and much appreciated.👍👍

It’s hard for me to give a NT cafe 1 star but I have to because it’s closed .. again! Once more the sign says staff shortages. This has been happening for too long and too often. What are the NT doing about it? There is a growing feeling locally that the level of service being offered continues to fall. Come on NT get your act together. 👎🏼 And a few weeks later although the cafe was open (👍) the coffee was poor - the latte and cappuccino we had were identical and watery! Some barista training is urgently needed! The great old cheese scones are now also rather ordinary. All very disappointing for a place that was so good to be at best now...

Popped in for some food whilst visiting Fountains Abbey but it was absolutely dire! We ordered a warm cornish pasty and sausage roll, and bought a pre-packed cheese and pickle sandwich. The cornish pasty was mince beef and onion, there was nothing cornish about it. Like the sausage roll, it had obviously been sat being kept warm for so long that it was so dry, most of it was inedible. The sandwich was two slices of extremely dry bread, with a cheese slice in the middle and a thimble of pickle. Total waste of a LOT of money. Staff were not very welcoming. Certainly wouldn't go...

fantastic little tearooms, great views, staff friendly and helpful even under pressure, it was a busy day with people queued out the door waiting and the staff were working has hard has they can whilst also dealing with people who were unhappy with the waiting time. whenever you visit a tourist attraction whether it's fountains Abbey, Harewood House, Castle Howard on good days you will queue in all places people need to have a little more patience with the staff has they are doing the best they can. I was made to feel very welcome and the drinks, food were very good. would...
